New car day

As above, picked up M340i, part ex’d my F30 330d which I’d loved owning.

Really pleased so far especially at the mpg! Very surprising! And the exhaust noise is great. Couldn’t be happier!

Does unplugging the valve just keep in in sport mode all the time? My understanding is once you select sport mode it opens the valve.

Congratulations! Mine landed in the port today so hopefully not too long before it's with me. How long did you wait once it arrived in the UK port then collection?

Doesn't change mode just means you get the extra bit of noise all the time. Free mod worth doing IMO.

I should have said “new to me”. It’s 12 months old on AUC. Couldn’t face the wait time I was being quoted and the lack of some of the kit that Bmw are advising due to parts shortages.

I had the drive from Brighton to Bristol to get to know it yesterday!

I’ll leave the exhaust as is I think. I sometimes have to deal with emergencies so end up driving off the drive at a stealthy 3.00am!

For many years I bought 3 series alpine white or mineral white....this last one that I got I opted for dravit grey ..... but I think that I still like more the white ones

ah fair enough it is a bit fruity on cold startup and if yours is a non MHT it would be slightly louder still from what people say.

Yeah it’s not MHT; will put it side by side with one with soon to see. Strangely when getting insurance quotes it went down, albeit only by £25 from my 330d. The MHT was a few insurance groups higher; cost of repair according to the ins co.

Looks terrific, Stevie. And it'll feel like a tremendous step up--the car is a veritable beast. Yes, if you have the earlier (presumably 2020 build) version without the MHT, then the exhaust will be very satisfying. Start it up in Sport when it has already been warmed up, and you'll get a lovely rumbling cascade of burbles. Cold starts are pretty fruity either way; but it does clam down in Comfort (if you want to be kind to your neighbours) after a couple of mins. Enjoy!
