Hi Guys.

I’m pretty much set on a G20 or G21 as my next car and I’m in the process of trying to tie down my ideal spec so I can quote it properly with the dealer.

Thanks to my mum’s NHS career I can access the discount available via BMW (which I think is the park lane dealership) which seems to be a good healthy 15% or so at the moment.

Does anybody know if the discount offered applies to the option packs too? And do any improve the GFV on PCP?

I’m trying to get my head around it all before I drive the dealer nuts with various questions and configurations.

I’m looking at a 330 or 340, in either saloon or touring. About the only think I’m sure so far is the colour, which must be Dravit Grey.

I bought via Park Lane and the discount they advertised on the base car flowed through all the options.

I ordered recently from Park Lane. Discount is on base car price only, no discounts for any options.

Many of the options packs add to the gfmv. The main ones I remember which don’t were sunroof and visibility pack.
Google for the TRLDEALS threads on a separate BMW forum, I think one of these threads had the information you were after.

Failing that, just mail park lane and they will tell you.

Also ordered via Park Lane with discount. The discount applied to the packaged too for me.

When I bought my G20 new my discount was applied to the list price of the car including options.

Thanks guys. I’m thinking of adding the comfort plus pack, along with the pano roof if I go for a G21. That’s on top of M-Sport Pro edition spec.

Definitely go for the Pano roof, it's great.

The options go right across car and options.

A lot of the option packs add to GFV, unfortunately your dravit grey doesn’t so it’s a ~£20 month option alone.

Pan roof is nice on a tourer but you only really notice it sat in the back, so I didn’t bother.

You’ll find the 340 isn’t much more than the 330 too.

Also, your local dealer will be able to match Park Lane too if it’s easier.

Interested in why people believe there is a discount against options on the BMW forces discount scheme.
I’m looking at the itemised finance document and the only field with a discount applied against it is off the base cars price. All other options are shown as full price.

That is true - the discount shown is on 1 line against the base price but, for me at least, the overall discount rate was preserved from the original deals advertised on base cars.

I would note that I was buying through the group supplier scheme rather than the forces scheme but I would be surprised if it's not the same for both.

Ah I was a private buyer - sorry I must have missed it was only related to this specific scheme when I mentioned I got the discount across everything.

Discount is off all the options but on the quote it is all assigned against the car list price. So, if you had fewer options, the discount in list would be less.

I went through the Forces ISSD route and neither my local dealer or TRL could match (TRL was close though).

That was for a similar car, G21 M340i, Dravit Grey, Pano roof, Shadowline Plus and a few more ticks.

Daft question, but does the forces car scheme only apply to brand new cars?

Issue I have is that if I need a car it is likely to be at short notice, I take it nothing applies to the BMW used approved scheme?

I appreciate the market's changed somewhat since I ordered mine in January 2020 but at that time I couldn't find a dealer who could get close to the Park Lane scheme. TRL was the nearest but from memory even he was about 4-5% adrift with the options I wanted; the discount he was offering on extras was lower than on the base car so the more you added the lower the total discount percentage became (from memory it eventually worked out at about 19% for the spec I wanted).

And the local dealer who got me the test drive - and who I gave last shout and with whom I'd have been happy to place an order - didn't even want to quote as soon as they knew I'd already got a figure from Park Lane. They just waved the white flag and said there was no way they'd be able to match the discounts offered under the Park Lane Scheme....

Thanks for all the guidance guys. Test driving on Sunday at local dealership to try to narrow down my preferred engine choice and then I’ll quote formally with Park Lane.
