I have just placed an order for this trim and have asked them to supply fitting instructions.
This may help: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/g...corative+strip What price were you quoted? Uk price is £740 ish |

It will have to come from Germany and although I have paid for it I have told the dealer that they must get me fitting instructions before ordering it. Couple of weeks maybe!!

Fitted the trim this morning. Took a couple of hours to remove & re-fit very carefully. Followed instructions from BMW but they are very basic. I will do a write up and add to the mod's section.

Definitely better👍 although I think it'll just be the lighting it does look more glossy than open pore.

The light when taking these photos with my phone was really bright.
I can confirm though that the trim is matte open-pored carbon fibre |

Thanks for sharing looks nice and clean. Just curious what were your thoughts and opinion about going with the OEM mat carbon fibre M-Performance trim instead of aftermarket gloss carbon fibre or a carbon fibre wrap on the trim?

To be honest I did a wrap on a previous F30 interior, it was ok but looked a bit chav therefore I changed it to OEM performance parts which had excellent build quality and fit. I looked at the after market stick on trims which do look good but decided to go OEM for the matte open-pored carbon fibre again on my current G20.
My local dealer reduced the price which persuaded me to purchase it. Some are advertising standard trim sets for close to what I paid and I would think the performance interior will sell when its time for me to change the car. I guess its down to personal taste and ££££'s but in my opinion well worth the cost. It just looks right and I will probably also do the steering wheel trim at some point. |

If you are talking about the trim around the gear selector then I would say this for me was the hardest part to remove because of the two clips as marked at the dashboard end. All I would say is do not lift the trim too high and use a long thin screw driver to carefully unclip, it did eventually pop out. If you haven't seen it I have done a basic guide in the DIY section.

Hi,
I have seen your pdf. But i am unable to unclip it. Do u push the screwdriver from the top to release the trim? Any risk of breaking anything? Do you have a close up photo on the clips of the trim you took out? Quote:

As I said this was the hardest bit and to be honest I am not 100% sure how eventually the two clips disengaged as I was trying different things. I used a long screwdriver from the side into the gap between the trim when raised and the gear trim and pulled/pushed at the same time. I seem to remember one clip disengaged before the other and being quite forceful but didn't break anything. It was hard and took a few attempts but came out in the end. If you enlarge the photo of the trim above you can see the two clips with tabs. Also if you do identify a method please let me know and I will amend my original guide.
