Is HK worthwhile?
I can see a few folks here have gone for the HK stereo upgrade. Is it worthwhile?
I had HK on my 2003 M3 years back and although better than the standard it still didn't sound great, especially the surround mode which just ruined things, at least to my ears. The M Sport seems to come with an 10-speaker/amp upgrade over the standard set up anyway. Any views on how this sounds compared to HK? Thanks! |

Totally agree its a must. 16 speakers (7 tweeters, 7 mids, 2 woofers and a Logic 7 DSP amp)

So I had a 320d demo with HK yesterday for 30 minutes. It was pretty good but not quite as good as I was hoping for (I'm probably a bit of an audio snob/knob with a Naim and B&W set up at home). The Mark Levinson in a Lexus ES is quite a bit better and the B&W in a Volvo V90 even more so (understandably given the £3k option price!) Still, seems like it's a "must have" option... :-)

1000% yes. Now with that said I have the standard premium sound in my G20, which is also actually made by HK and its a great system but it just doesnt have the refinement, clarity and base of the HK upgrade. Had HK in my 2017 540i and loved it.
