I don't understand the hate. I love the look of the new M440, especially the grill. I have a 2020 M340 in Dravit Grey and these pics make me want to upgrade.

I know looks are subjective, but I'm really not a fan of the grey. And black wheels are also a no in my book.

I'm actually quite disappointed with the colour options for the 4. As bold a car it is, I expected some bold colours to match it rather than just some greys, dark blues, and one mediocre green.

I have the M340 in Dravit. Never saw it either when I ordered it was a little nervous before seeing it. The color is absolutely WILD. It's literally like 4 colors in 1 depending on the weather (night time, overcast, sunny day, rain, cloudy etc). Never seen anything like it. It goes from powder grey to charcoal grey to a matte black and it just the right sun/cloud combination believe it or not a dark army green kind of color. It has bronze metallic flakes throughout which is what causes the colors to change so dramatically. I get complimented at least once a day from a random pedestrian usually multiple times a day every day. I hope you ordered it with the black rims. If not, call your dealership now and change it!! Enjoy...

No it's not. Dravit Grey and Nardo Grey are distinctly different. That's like saying Yas Marina Blue is basically Laguna Seca Blue.

It's nothing to do with the colour. It's the overall design that's the problem. The front is simply hideous. You can paint it whatever colour you want, but as the old saying goes "you can't polish a turd!". This my friend is a turd.

You said dravit was basically nardo. It's misinformation. They aren't close, and I didn't want that perpetuated. You are free to like or dislike the design and colors.

I was thinking the same as never seen it in person ! Glad your pleased with it, your description is helpful as no two pictures look the same and was little worried the gold/ brown tones would be a bit much.

But the posts on here seem to say it looks good so will stick with it 👍

As for the black pack have been tempted to add but i liked the look of the Bicolour wheels, and decided to add sunroof instead, might still change

I totally disagree with the "masses" on this one.

I have owned several BMW's including 435 M sport, 550 M Sport, M340, & X5M.

I love the new grill and I am happy that BMW is finally breaking away from the pack. Yes it might look different but that is exactly the reason I like it.

I am not one of those people who likes stuff or does not like stuff just because everyone else agrees or disagrees.

This is what I call the heard mentality. This goes for anything new or different than they are "accustomed to".

The masses first jump on board and say its terrible I hate it. Then as time passes and they start to realize other people actually like it then they think well its not so bad. Next thing you know they are at a car meet telling M3 & M4 owners that they always loved these new grills.

Totally agree! I am so sick of hearing people whine about the 4 series grill. There were plenty of whiners about the introduction of the 4 series back in 2015 with absurd predictions that this would dilute the brand and ruin BMW. They complained about the bloated looks and the cost too and predicted it would be a total failure.

Keep in mind that many of these current "grill whiners" own late model 3 series with, in my opinion, ugly and cheap looking black plastic grills on their own vehicles--it looks like a fake grill. Or M340's with a similar but smaller designed grill except the nuggets are vertical. I think the horizontal nuggets look better but of course, its all subjective. In my opinion, the best looking grill is on the new M3 & M4 and I'll consider replacing with those on my new 4 series if an aftermarket option becomes available.

Now, back to the regular program of one-liner trolls whining about their grill dissatisfaction on a car they have no interest in purchasing...

Yeah he, what he said. The grill of the 3 looks cheap and fake, regardless of which grill it is. The top couple inches of it are just molded solid plastic, so why does it extend that high? And, the surround is way too thick, bulbous.

And yes... the M3/M4 grills with the bars look great... even better than the mesh grill on the G22. I plan to install an MPerformance grill on my M440i, until or unless somebody produces a grill more like the M4.

Most of the haters would not buy a coupe even if it was identical to a sedan minus the 2 back doors os they should care less about what the G22 looks like.
