Should I wait for the new M3/M4 or jump ship?

My M4 lease ends in December of this year. Should I:

(1) Wait for G82 M4 in (tentatively) Fall 2020?
or
(2) Wait for G80 M3 in (tentatively) Fall 2020?
or
(3) Jump to G20 M340i?
or
(4) Jump to M2 Competition?
or
(5) Jump to M5 Competition?
or
(6) Jump to AMG C63s?
or
(7) Jump to 911 S (992)?
or
(8) Jump to something else?
or
(9)

Thoughts, Comments, Suggestions?

wait to see the reviews of the new g80, then if they aren't up to your liking the prices will have fallen more for the outgoing f80.

Need some more info. Is your current M4 non comp? 6MT? I wouldn't wait for the G80/82 and see early reviews and get CPO and not get that depreciation hit. Also, your options go from M340i to M2 to M5? Those are big jumps all over the place...

I'd be surprised if new M is available in late 2020. Do you want AWD? Bigger or smaller vehicle compared to your current car? Can you afford any of those cars? Your options are like $60-130k apart.

Thats what I am thinking, new M might be in 2021.
Yes, awd for sure.
Bigger/smaller doesn't matter but prefer coupes.
Yes, can afford all of these cars. My limit is $200K or less.

Hmmm is it possible to extended my current lease? Currently it expires in Dec 2019.

I believe you can extend up to 2 months with no restrictions and up to 6 months if you have a BMW on order.

The new G8x with M xDrive is going to be seriously lust worthy if you want AWD so I bet you'll want one. What to do as a bridge though is really tough. I would probably go Porsche for a stint if the money isn't an issue although supposedly you'll forget about BMW if you own one! 992 C4 GTS would be my choice. 991.2 if you want to save some money or would want to sell after a year. It might be difficult to go back to 991.1 NA motor after having an F80 TTI6.

When I think about a new 992 though, which I personally cannot afford, I still feel like I would want the G8x because it's more the every day car with a less flashy badge. Porsches are too much in the toy category for me but here in Seattle people hate cars so I feel like a jackass even in my E92 M3.

Based on your car history, it sounds like you need to get the 992. No question.

I would say by the time the car comes to market and in particular your market. It looks like around 15 months.

I am leaning towards 992. Plus I will be one step closer to get into GT3/GT3RS once it releases in 2-3 years, my ultimate car

It's the next step. If the M3 pure turns out to be a legend, you will have plenty of time to get one after your 992. Honestly the only other car you might consider is the new 718 GT4 coming out with the N/A 3.8l 420hp flat six. That car is almost a guaranteed future classic.

I think the 718 GT4 might be the best car they've ever made - not necessarily the fastest, but the best.

I would go P car if I were the OP as well....

Simple choice then. 911 Turbo S.

Other than usable rear seats for adults, there is nothing that car can't do than any other car on the planet at any price point.

Wow - that's the first I've heard of a timeline that early. Scott - are you saying US customer car deliveries on the G80 M3 in mid 2020? May/June/July?
