^ that console, with the isolated iDrive controller looks sooooo much more at home. As if... an older BMW exec. approved the design for reasons other than ///Money.

It also looks matte rather than piano black.

Well that’s another reason to buy the 6MT

Probably leather ... unless it's rubber made to look like leather with stitching, hopefully not.

Either way tho, I like it more than a block of plastic too

I dont understand all the hype abt lexus looking taillight on new G3X and G8X going around.

I was pretty disappointed from t BMW only will put rear wheel drive with manual with only "lowest" spec naming "pure". Just by the fact that they wont offer competiton model with manual and rear wheel drive train.... i am not in this game any longer.

So i put my deposit on coming M2 CS.

lol the g80 "the best performing m3 of all time". in other news the sky is blue. water is wet
Entirely subjective statement. I love various cars made in various countries, but I think the e92 is the ugliest M ever made. Just my two cents, I understand I may be in the minority.

I must have missed the memo that the BMW famous inline six was no longer an acceptable engine. As for sound, yes not a V8 but I have no issues with the F80

F8x Carbon Ceramic Rear Calipers - Standard Hand Brake

This applies to standard non-CCB brakes as well. BMW & Audi uses electronically adjusted caliper pistons that lock the rotor when activated. That's why on most exotic cars you see two calipers mounted in the rear, the smaller one being independently used for Parking.

As far as I know, MB AMG is the only one who still uses electronic axle lock for the park brake, allowing them to have electronic park brake and sealed rear calipers. Early F01 750's had the same concept but it was flaw'd. MB has way more experience with BBK's so I'm not surprised they have it all under control.
By "electronic axle lock" are you talking about drum brakes like the F30/F80? Because my Chevy SS has 4 piston fixed rear calipers with an electronic parking brake using the same method. I'm fairly certain the Camaro SS has the same brake package as well. I'm sure there are a fair number of GM performance cars with this kind of setup. Some even resort to using both fixed AND floating calipers to accomplish this which I personally think is just sloppy considering fixed caliper brakes are 90% a visual upgrade to begin with.

I never thought the E92 was all that impressive, sound-wise, in stock form at least. I know that's sacrilege in some circles here, but many others do the V8 thing better (at least from a sound perspective and in my opinion).

The F80, especially in ZCP form, has evolved over time as BMW has tried to get the sound to a more universally liked place. I think it sounds pretty good, even better on the M2C, and best on the M3CS.
