Connected app issues
for the past month, my app has not been updating properly. when i open the app, it says last updated on 9/19/19. i have logged out of the app, logged back in, uninstalled the app, deleted my profile in the car, and even deleted my account. i had bmw add the car back to my account last week, and it still says last updated on 9/19/19. when i first got the car in august, i was not able to use the remote 3D view and a few other features on the app, but it would at least update with current info (fuel, range, location). i have tried using a few remote features ever since bmw added the car back to my account, but it always says FAILED. any recs? anyone else having similar issues?

Over The Air (OTA) software updates are not reliable at present so you need to talk to your dealer.

Fab, will do. I tried when i parked up at home last night and it just kept searching for an update with no outcome. I need to drop it into the dealer anyway so i'll see if they can take a look at it then

Try rebooting iDrive to update connected app service.
Hold the power button down for 70 seconds exactly. The iDrive screen will turn off and reboot around 25 seconds, but you have to keep holding the button for 70 seconds. After a minute, release the button, wait for iDrive to boot up On the iDrive, click "Apps", highlight "installed apps" and then update services via the iDrive |

I can personally say after updating to 3.2020.30, and resetting iDrive, EVERY Connected Drive function works, and the last updated time updates every minute while the car is on, and then for 5-10 min or so afterward. I have tested each feature a few times, especially remove 3d view - I test that one daily for fun

Haven't yet updated to 3/2020 and started having issues with ConnectedDrive and the app recognizing the vehicle.
Last update was 3/20/2020. Have tried resetting, updating, deleting/reinstalling, etc. No dice. It's just not taking. Perhaps it's time to go into the dealership and get the update.

I was at the dealer yesterday and had them update idrive (3.2020.31), this took an hour. For the first time ever, the connected app works properly. Even have Spotify that I can link to my account to have it run directly from the car. Nice little bonus. Hopefully this all stays stable

And it’s gone again. I guess I’ll have to get the latest update. Too bad the remote update isn’t supported yet. I’m not risking coronavirus to get ConnectedDrive working.
