Preserving Front Axle Support recall

Took my 320i M Sport in to the dealer yesterday after BMW connected told me there was a software update and it may solve some of the connectivity issues.

On arrival the dealer said that there was also a recall, which on the invoice is listed as "preserving the front axle support". They didn't seem to know what it meant and it was the first I'd heard about it.

So just as a heads up if you haven't had it done and secondly, anyone any idea what the issue is?

Highly unlikely I know but did the dealer mention if the problem was solely with the 320i?

The service agent I dealt with didn't really know anything about it at all.

It was the first I'd heard about it when I was handing my keys over, yet it was the first thing he mentioned, before my connectivity issues.

Guess this is probably the same recall as seen in the US. The axle support wasn't properly coated for rust protection I believe: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...4&postcount=21

Good info. Would have thought dealerships would be contacting people by now & has anyone seen anything on the website?

Just checked the Government website and it has this for my car

Outstanding recall found

This vehicle has been recalled since at least 22 May 2020.

Contact a BMW dealership to arrange for repairs.

Not for this but rear centre headrest!

This is for cars made between June & August 2019.
There is also another for a possible faulty seat belt recognition for vehicles made in the Nov '19 to March 20 period.

And a recall for the charging cable for the 330e which annoyingly cannot be dismissed from the dash or the app
