He already posted pics of his car above (the white one). He has the 245s on the front. They look pretty good and fill up the wheel well better than stock.

Didn't recognize the handle and the fact that he was the one that posted pics in this thread... My bad.

When over-sizing tires you may wish to consider tire deflection when under load. Tires are not rigid. Their shape changes considerably when in use.

Yup. 245/40 on 19x8 will compromise handling although debatable how much you would notice it subjectively. If I were upsizing stock 19x8 square wheels I would go 235/40 max but if really trying to upsize you need wider wheels.

No one talks (or maybe knows) about slip angle and why I didn't add spacers... the effect is certainly not noticeable on any type of street driving with my "over tire" compared to stock. I'd even go as far to say it (handling) is much better than with the run flats......
Adding spacers improves the looks but "could" slightly effect the handling by changing the slip angle so have held off (for now).
PS an 8" rim is ok for a 245 P4s per Michelin's website.....

What brand of tires are you guys getting for the rear 255 wheels? The Bridgestone all season RFTs that came with the car doesn't make 255 width in 19".

Thinking of putting 245/35/19s on my stock 19x8 rims. Has anyone here run that setup? Any issues?

There is only ONE tyre brand to recommend, PS4S. Am at 30,000 kms, spirited driving, some track laps, and 63nds rear. Pirelli melt in 3 months, and Contis, 15,000kms. Cost per wear, as well as absolute grip etc, Michelin.

A few days ago got caught -15C, snow flurry at 6AM, Since there is not traffic with COVID, I attempted to engage ABS, loose control, no avail. As far as the Michelins got a sniff of asphalt, they remained planted below 40MPH. Now, i only did this as I anticipate replacing them soon anyway. new summers, i would never abuse them below 3C...

I have to throw my hat in the ring here for Michelin 4s as well ... I swapped off my run flats and bought some Michelin pilot sport 4s and holy crap. What an insanely huge improvement.

This car was already a beast, with the Michelin’s it truly is something to behold. I could have never imagined how much of a difference the Michelin’s would provide. To me, no doubt worth the money.

I am getting a full set of MPS4's within the next month since the run flats rears are almost done in less than 9k miles. Never again will i get a bimmer with run flats. A month after I got the car, a piece of metal flew thru one of the rear tires which forced me to buy a new run-flat to the tune of almost 400 bucks with installation for a single tire. Yet, rears won't even give me 10k miles.

Initially, I figured I would wait a year which would be August; swap out the run flats and save them for lease return. This option is now not possible since I will need to buy a set of used rear run-flats for lease return. These run flats are crappy, expensive, not one redeeming quality, yet dealers seems to order all their cars with run flats. Next time, I will do a custom order and avoid all this headache.

Yes, Tire Rack told me not to go bigger than 235/40/19 for my G20 non-M for a square setup. Not that you can't, but they don't recommend and can't guarantee no rubbing up front if you go bigger.

I live in PA and spec'ed the all season, with the rims I wanted they only came in run-flat. My original plan was to replace them with non run-flat after the OEMs wore out, but the OEM tires are so lame I'll probably replace before then.

I was surprised to see my tires were 225/40-19 square, I was expecting 225/40 and 255/35 but as others have mentioned I guess
the staggered setup only comes with summer tires, and all season tires
are 225/40 square? If so, does anyone know why?

On my m340i: 245/40/19 on 19x8.5 with 20 mm spacer and 275/35/19 on 19x9.5 without spacer. They feels perfect no rubbing or anything.

Are the 20mm spacers needed to clear strut or you wanted a more flush fitment? Mind sharing pics?

I think 10mm will clear the strut( check the pictures for stock vs mine comparison) 20mm is just me want a flush finish.

BarryB's setup looks nice.. I don't think i can do the same as I seem to have 225/40/19 Bridgestone Turanza runflat . Someone correct me if i'm wrong plz. Can i run 245/50/19 all around or what is the best sizing for the pilot sport 4s? Tire rack shows the recommended size for the 2020 m340i at:

Front: 225/40R19 93Y XL
Rear: 255/35R19 96Y XL
