I'm really not hating the grilles on every occasion at Bimmerpost and I'll wait to see the final product. But when I look at the whole car in general, it really appears to be a bit like you've described.

This car just doesn't look like a typical german car in its stock version. It looks more like car with a lot of aftermarket parts or, as you've said, a japanese sports sedan. Okay, I hate black wheels and think the car looks cheap and ricey with it and just make the car look worse (that's just my opinion, of course, I know there are a lot of black wheel fans here), so some silver wheels may help, but I'm really getting worried that this will be the first M3/4 I'm not a fan of its look. Beside the wheels, the front is too busy, the huge size of the grille doesn't really fit the BMW kidney as good as Audi's grille style (for example), the aftermarket looking rear bumper/diffuser, the boring rear lights are also not my taste at all... But then again, I like the general shape of the car, the wide hips, the head lights look okay, the interior is improved, so I don't write it off yet.

I love BMW and I'm not going to say that BMW has lost its way forever and I'm done with them, but it seems like the current BMW design era just isn't for me.

Proof of this? So far all leaked images appear that's not the case.

Didn't Scott say the car would have the most radical and aggressive aero kit ever on a BMW? Doesn't really look radical or aggressive to me in the renders.

Also, the way the horizontal grille slats interact with the frameless grille gives it an illusion like the outline of the grille was made by someone with a shaky hand. The border looks wavy instead of straight if that makes sense.

I don’t see why the current 3 Series has the ‘small grill’ and the next M3 will have the ‘big’ ones ... ??

I’m not talking about the M4, which is the standard reflection of the Concept 4

The M3 sedan has shared its front end with the coupe for the last two generations, starting with the E9x M3. The G80 M3 will continue this trend and also use the coupe front end.. it's just that the new coupe front end has these large grills.

This has been going for months.

When they reveal the M3 everyone is gone shut up and accept it.

Yes, I partly agree. but never in the past we have seen the front end model to swap in production cycle, exactly what will happen with the G80 chassis..

So, there is a real question, and to me, only BMW has the answer. Will they follow the same process, or will they change and keep the 3 Series’ front end as we know it today, for ever, or re adapt it because of the 4 Series ...
For now, excuse me, but nobody knows

That's exactly what I have been saying as well Miko. I know I'm in the minority here, but I for one am looking forward to the new look. I'm sure once the final product is unveiled, people will start changing their mind....especially once they start modding their G80s.

As I understand it the new M3/4 will have the same huge ass grill.

The standard series 3er & 4er will not.

I see a QV front-end with an Audi inspired grill.
