Had it on my e46 and it to this day was my fav bmw color I owned. Also think I prolly got the most compliments/struck up discussions about that color with random people. Really struck people, I'd second ur wish but won't matter ha

I’ve always found it a bit meh...

Interlagos blue is way nicer. Or San Marino, which gets compliments off everybody!

Both Interlagos and San Marino trend more towards a purple hue, though. Le Mans still owns my heart.

Especially Interlagos, too purple for my taste. San Marino is the best dull weather blue for places like Seattle while I prefer Le Mans in sunny bright locations were SMB is a bit on the flashy side. Still nice though.

Not sure how many blues and grays you guys want BMW to make or bring back.

To your common Joe, Lemans - Estroil and heck even Portimao looks the same.

If they should bring any blue back, it should be Laguna Seca Blue as that clearly stands out. (Or even Atlantis)

Or if you want it that bad pay the $5K and order an individual color

Never understood these color discussions over 50 shades of gray & blues.

Peace!

I kind of agree with you in a way that a new car should mainly have new colors together with the staples as white, black, silver and grey. The main issue I have with the F8X colors is that there were no silver or light-mid grey. You don’t need both of them but none of them leave a gap.

100% agreed. F8X generation had some of the worst color options offered including the worst smurf blue I have ever seen on a BMW.

If someone thinks Estoril, Le Mans or even Portimao blue are anywhere near remotely the same, they're colorblind. Portimao is the closest resemblance, but it's not Le Mans. I think Le Mans was the middle ground between Tanzanite and Portimao.

Le Mans was a deep blue while the others are basically different degrees of sky blue.

It still is 50 shades of gray argument.

BMW continues to offer plenty of blues. They brought back Estoril and might bring Le Mans back.

I would personally want to see Dakar Yellow back once again!

While we're at it, lets bring back Techno Violet as well.

I’m not a yellow car guy but there was a Dakar yellow F82 around here done up with a lot of CF aero bits and it looked amazing. Definitely a standout.

LMB is a very clean and classy blue, perfect on an M5. Not sure if it’s edgy/modern enough for the controversial G8X. I don’t think classy will be it’s main epithet.

I wonder if BMW will do it as part of the Individual program? Hmm.

Full individual? I bet they will for a cool $5k. I also bet it will not be part of the few semi individuals at around $2k.

Well, if you are going to pay $5K for paint, you might as well stand out is what I am thinking

LeMans Blue all the way!

I loved my LeMans blue! I'd love to see that color back. Moved to Sakhir orange for my f80, which isn't bad but I miss the le mans blue!

My wife's 2011 335is Coupe was Le Mans Blue. We both loved that color. In 2012 I bought a Interlagos Blue Z4 M Roadster. Nice color, but not as bright and didn't stand out as much as the LMB. Looks good on the Roadster though. Then I bought 2016 M4 in Sakhir Orange because Yas Marino Blue sucked. Then in 2018 my wife bought an Individual San Marino Blue. That blue totally rocks in the sun and still looks great when it's overcast. She wanted to do Individual Le Mans Blue but sometime after Rowan Buds got his LMB M3, Individual said they wouldn't do that color anymore for the M3. Before we sold her 335is we lined up all three and the SMB stood out the most. Sadly, we didn't take a picture.

To my eye, SMB if far better than both LMB or IB. I'm glad we got to experience all three.

I loved my 2016 TB M4 but it was no longer available for the 2020 F82 (other than $4,500 Individual). Therefore, I decided to grab a LMB M4 ($0 charge color) and I'm very happy with it. Attached is a photo next to an EB 335GC and another shot from Napa. SMB was a little too purple and bold for my taste but it's a great color.
