An M Performance Accessory Too Far

Found this whilst browsing(as you do) and although I'm a sucker for a bit of cf this is just serves little to no purpose and that's before you look at the price!

Crikey! You would have to be insane to pay that for an oil filler cap! My M40d has an M Performance engine cover, and I honestly don't know why BMW bothered with that!

Yup! And it's not a total replacement either, it only adheres to your existing cap.

If this were a AE aftermarket effort you'd give it a condescending sneer for it's pointlessness but it's OEM & I......I.....I just don't know what to say really

At least the engine cover is a nice bit of costume jewellery to look at, although proper expensive even if you track an aftermarket one down. This cap though
