Danish dealer said my 330i would have M Sport Suspension but months later, it doesn’t
Weird issue with my 330i order, back in March i ordered a 330i Sport Line. I added M sport suspension as option without taking the whole M sport package. Dealer said no problem.
I was suposed to get my car in 10 days, dealer sends a mail few days ago and tells me there was a mistake in the configurator and cannot add M sport suspension. Very disappointed to wait 3 months and finally to be told I cannot get my car. |

So was a car actually built?
If so, why did it take months for the discrepancy between what you thought you ordered and what was actually being produced to come to light? If not, why did it take months for them to finally attempt to produce it, only to then realize it could not be assembled as specified? I realize not all countries are fortunate enough to have order tracking like we do in the US, but you’d think the feedback loop would be a smidge tighter. At this point you may never know who dropped the ball - the dealership or the factory (though odds would tend to favor the former, IMHO). |

Is m sport suspension really not deliverable on a non m line car? Brochure says it can as far as I know.

Maybe it is different in Denmark? Or, perhaps his dealer is trying to cover up either mistakenly forgetting to order his car, or are attempting to sell it to someone else who is offering more money. Not that I am accusing anyone, but both of those types of shenanigans have played out before.

Ask them to show you your original order and if 704 is not listed, they never had it on the order. Seems they guessed wrong in thinking Sports line had 704 suspension.

The dealer said the error did not show up in the configurator and probably only highlighted when factory checked the configuration.
I see no technical reason why M sport suspension cannot be added to a Sport Line model? The car is a leasing but anyhow ...I will see if I can get an agreement with them on this issue. Very unprofessional from their side have to say. |

Gotcha. Before I tried UK, I tried Denmark and couldn't find a configurator on their site. If MSport suspension is indeed an available stand alone option in Denmark, then OP should tell his dealer to order/find another car configured the way he wants it. And assuming it is available, why did BMW reject the order with MSport suspension added to a Sports line car? Assuming dealer is being truthful....

When selecting M sport suspension in the German configurator, the Sport Line trim is replaced by Advantage trim , so I think its a limitation by Bmw

I actually had M Sport briefly on my order with Sport Line, before I finally switched to standard suspension. My dealer did not report any limitations in his ordering software regarding "M Sport suspension", except it also includes "Variable Sport Steering". I also checked the official G20 price list. There are no special limitations noted on "M Sport suspension" item. M sport suspension is basically 1cm lower and firmer springs and dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars. Other than that there's nothing special that would prevent it from being compatible with SportLine package. Last edited by Calamari; 06-04-2019 at 10:52 AM.. |
