Did you know before hand that the i4 was going to be there? Wanted to confirm that the Philly event will have it as well but when I called the UDE 844 number they didn't give a solid confirmation.

Wish there was a good way to reach out to the people running the event.

I did not. I had seen that the iX was at previous UDE events on the forums but not the i4. I imagine the i4 will be at future events since its been officially unveiled at featured at DC.

Funny you mention that, you're not the first or even second person to say that. Talked to two other people at the event who said without the grills the vehicle could be mistaken for a Murano or Nissan product. For the i4 I heard the word Hyundai getting thrown around by multiple people in regards to how it looked.

We've come full circle. BMW designers went to Hyundai, now BMW's look like Hyundais.

I assume that whoever designed the large grill dared designers to make a worse design and the door handle people proved to be up for the challenge.

I get drag reduction etc but why do these EV's have to have the ugliest wheels possible?

Couldn't get much since the car was locked. Its pretty much a G20 with tacked on Mercedes Screens, less buttons, and tacky blue accents. Here's a photo of the iX screen, pretty much the only big difference in the i4 and G20 interior.

From the side this was very much my opinion. The lack of harder body lines and a nice hoff kink really do make the design look more generic as well as visually heavier and softer, lacking many traditional BMW cues. Overall I think the previous 4GC (even non M-Sport) looks much sharper and sportier.

So BMW is doing away with climate and radio controls when other manufacturers are bringing them back? Looking forward to seeing a demo of iDrive 8

I don't feel like this will be a competitive vehicle. It doesn't offer anything out of the box other than it being electric and Efficient. The whole placement of seats and storage seems the same

Aaaaggghhh. Why did you have to mention this!! Hahaha. Man, just another minor design change on the g series cars that once it's pointed out, you can't unsee. And now it's gonna bother me. 😁

Looking at the side profile of my F30 as a compare, I think the handles are at the same height, but the doors are taller and the windows are shorter. That's why the handles look so out of place. Maybe?

It was a good event this year. I didn't go last year due to covid just starting (and they were driving 2GC's which I don't care for), but this year the instructors weren't in the vehicle so we got full control for three laps. The test drive fleet was a little boring though aside from the two V8 8ers, they definitely were trying to get people interested in the PHEV's this year.

I wonder whether all new BMW car launches will be welcomed with those kind of discussions as from now on? There was a time, not that long ago, when everybody was enthousiastic.

When the sketches of the upcoming X7 LCI and 7 series are a bit reliable, things might become even worse very fast.

I wonder how long BMW needs to understand and correct their major mistake in trusting this design team.

That's what I expected after seeing a post earlier from someone who went to the Boston UDE … Probably why I did not try hard to go. Are they still giving out $1K credit voucher towards a new car?

Yep, $1,000 towards any new BMW lease or purchase.

Is their an expiration date for the $1000 credit?

Do you know if you can use it towards a pre-order of the i4?
