Who To Use As Middleman For FEMTO DME Unlock

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Who’s out there and you have used as a middleman with no hiccups regarding DME unlocks. Just give me some feedback regarding speed and communication if it was needed.

I know there are some great write ups and the process isn’t overly complicated I’m just nervous I am going to miss one small step and because of my stupidity my package is going to get held up somewhere, so I’d rather pay a little bit for what I would call “peace of mind” in the form of experience with shipping these DME’s.

Euro performance center literally drops it off in person to femto.

I haven’t done it, but that’s what they claim.

I’ve done it myself. It’s not hard at all and for peace of mind just show the DHL guy the instructions and have him confirm that’s gonna work. I was in your boat a month ago and after reading fine print from a lot of companies and shop stating they aren’t responsible for damages etc. I figured what’s the point of paying extra money and still assuming risk.

+1

If you are going to do it, you might as well do it yourself.

It only makes sense to pay a shop if they are removing the ECU and, reinstalling it for you + sending it to Femto.

But if their only job is to print a label and you still are assuming the risk, then why pay them?

It doesn't seem that much more expensive to doing it yourself compared to having a middleman shop do it.

Femto unlock ~$800 + ~$500 DHL shipping (Houston to Finland)

Cedar Performance $1500

This is actually not so bad. I might need to contact them. Looking at sending mine out around mid May.

How much was it and do they load tunes on it for you or do you have to do that?

1500, and no its just the unlock. My recommendation is to get a BM3 license and use their custom rom. You get 1 OTS map from them with purchase of a license. Its currently the only platform that's doing flex fuel on the OEM DME to my knowledge.

You have to purchase and activate bm3 before sending the DME to femto for custom rom.
