Does your reverse camera move with the steering?

in my current 320d, the reverse camera image moves with the steering. i find this not helpful, would prefer if the camera image stayed straight and only the grid lines moved with the steering. this is how it was on my previous x3(which was on idrive 6). is this a feature that was added with idrive7? do you guys find this useful or counter intuitive like i do?

thanks. ours very wierd when the camera moves while reversing as you lose your sense of orientation. i feel my whole reverse camera setup is buggy. even the 360 image is not accurate. will take this back to the dealer.

do you prefer the reverse camera moves or stays static? also is your 360 image accurate? mine shows the car to be atleast a foot ahead of where it really is and shifted to the right! scares the hell out of me when i parallel park as it appears as if I'm going to hit the car in front.

I prefer it to not move because it’s so confusing and can’t tell if I’m going to hit the curb. Maybe this is a little bug? Let me know if u find a fix!

Yep will do. Will be taking it to the dealer. Mines a nov 2018 build 320d (g20) car, so must have been one of the early production models. Bought it 2 months ago. What's your build date? Wondering if this is an issue with the early production cars.

I think it moves only if your car is equipped with surround view. Mine doesn't have it and the camera image doesn't move.

I have surround and it doesn't move, unless you count switching camera views when approaching objects from different sides. When Reversing, the view angle is static, but guide lines move.

Both the view and guidelines move on our cars: 2018 X3 and 2020 330i. Both have surround view.

Ahh. I did read a few posts where people with new X3s and 3 series cars with surround view mentioned the changing views when they turned the steering. It isn’t the camera physically moving. Software drops the view depending on which side the steering is turned to, making it feel as though the camera is moving. I wonder why yours doesn’t have it whereas others do. Probably a new/old software version?

Just checked mine, and yes, both front and rear cameras "move" when I turn the wheel.
It hadn't registered with me before, so I assume my brain is happy with it like this.

For my 2019 with 2020/03 software, only the front camera moves view angle when steering in D. The rear camera only has lines moving in reverse.

Mine does not but I remember in my 08 x5 the camera would auto level but that might be a suv thing or maybe a just a quirk

I'm pretty sure it's because there's a glitch with idrive in I think most NA cars. In my car, the camera doesn't default to the auto mode and therefore the camera doesn't turn. When I go into drive from reverse my camera stays in reverse instead of switching to the front camera. When I click the auto button on the surround view (the front one) my cameras turn and the front camera turns on when I go into drive. Not sure if that makes sense but that's the best I can explain it.
