Does your reverse camera move with the steering?
in my current 320d, the reverse camera image moves with the steering. i find this not helpful, would prefer if the camera image stayed straight and only the grid lines moved with the steering. this is how it was on my previous x3(which was on idrive 6). is this a feature that was added with idrive7? do you guys find this useful or counter intuitive like i do?

do you prefer the reverse camera moves or stays static? also is your 360 image accurate? mine shows the car to be atleast a foot ahead of where it really is and shifted to the right! scares the hell out of me when i parallel park as it appears as if I'm going to hit the car in front.

Yep will do. Will be taking it to the dealer. Mines a nov 2018 build 320d (g20) car, so must have been one of the early production models. Bought it 2 months ago. What's your build date? Wondering if this is an issue with the early production cars.

I have surround and it doesn't move, unless you count switching camera views when approaching objects from different sides. When Reversing, the view angle is static, but guide lines move.

Ahh. I did read a few posts where people with new X3s and 3 series cars with surround view mentioned the changing views when they turned the steering. It isn’t the camera physically moving. Software drops the view depending on which side the steering is turned to, making it feel as though the camera is moving. I wonder why yours doesn’t have it whereas others do. Probably a new/old software version?

Just checked mine, and yes, both front and rear cameras "move" when I turn the wheel.
It hadn't registered with me before, so I assume my brain is happy with it like this. |

I'm pretty sure it's because there's a glitch with idrive in I think most NA cars. In my car, the camera doesn't default to the auto mode and therefore the camera doesn't turn. When I go into drive from reverse my camera stays in reverse instead of switching to the front camera. When I click the auto button on the surround view (the front one) my cameras turn and the front camera turns on when I go into drive. Not sure if that makes sense but that's the best I can explain it.
