Is the LCI available without Mild Hybrid?
Yes. In South America don’t come with mild hybrid.
Comes with button and was easy codable with bimmercode.

The only way for disabling auto start stop on idrive8

https://youtube.com/shorts/h2npwW7VYxU?feature=share

hi, I have been there.
so to conclude coding works right after the coding.
it won't work again after ignition is off.

I was so irritated and got the auto start/stop canceller and intalled.

Life changer. one of the best mod i have done on my ride.

I am planning to upload how to video.

Not interested in going that route. But it could be an option for others out there if this can’t be coded anymore even outside BimmerCode.

Not necessarily for me. Don’t think I’d want to install any hardware that could become a flimsy excuse for my dealer to deny a warranty claim. With coding I just revert back before service appointment - takes less than 5 minutes.

I’ll stay on current software, where my code is working, for as long as I can until coding this is on newer software is possible again.

The 330i LCI has an auto/start stop button. I’m curious if anyone has retrofitted this into the M340i

Good for you!
I wouldn’t even try to do this, if my 330ix could code it off
I found out somewhat m340 can code it off.
Should ve got m340..

Yeah I’m with you. M340i can code it off, yes; but as of recent software it’s not possible anymore - at least for now. Earlier builds with the button might still be able to code the memory but I have a mild-hybrid which doesn’t have the button. That’s the challenge for most folks here. That’s enough of a detractor for people like me to wait out software update.

My 2020 M340 has been updated. And much like everyone else’s experience, Bimmercode can’t code Auto Start/Stop memory. In addition, there’s no Expert Mode for the DME within the app (probably for good reason).

Anyone use Bimmer Utility to code the memory capability?

The built in cheat sheet on the BU Android app worked for me to code ASS memory after 2023/03 update. Mine is a 2021 M340i no mild hybrid.

My Bimmercode app got an update. Downloaded it, and then went out to the car to see if anything different. I can now code the setting (a change from “cannot be coded”). However, it doesn’t look like the coding sticks as AS/S turns itself back on when I shut the car off. Might have to invest in BU. Debating if the setting is worth the cost of admission though.

Not if your car doesn’t have the button; it can’t be coded for now. Sounds like what you’re describing is AS/S memory. Two different things.

You are correct, I’m referring to coding AS/S memory. I’ve a 2020 with the button. App says it was coded, however the button doesn’t reflect that.

I am in the same boat. Tried coding with Bimmercode, but did not work. Bought Bimmerutility thinking this would fix it, but it does not. Has anyone been successful with Bimmerutility? Maybe BMW just locked us out from this function?

Do you have the AS/S button in your car?

Good to know. Has BimmerCode finally addressed this?

What is your model year and do you have mild hybrid?

2023 with mild Hybrid

Bimmercode did a big update when I first plugged it in to the new car. Totally different layout.

I managed to code quite a few things at the same time.
