Looking at that massive rear overhang, I'm thinking BMW must have sub-contracted out some of the design to the same team that designed the new Corvette. Perhaps they wanted to make sure two sets of clubs fit here too?

Is it any worse than the last two? I've actually found the E92/3 and F82/3 to both have way too much rear overhang, and have greatly preferred the tidier E90 and F80. Aside from the scary front, I'm assuming this will continue with the G8x.

Its looking really great isn't it?
You can begin to see that muscle under the camouflage surrounded by crisp lines on the surface with more deeper sculpture on the lower flanks. And yes you can't ignore that grille giving the car a strong and powerful identity.

I have a theory that there will be an option available for your garage for storing the grill and cooking steak...

That wheel & tire just look very disproportionate to the car... not sure if it's just the illusion made by the camo or what... but looks like they stuck a pair of 13's on there...

Yes the 13" wheel and tire combo is exclusively aimed at Bimmerpost haters brigade club.

Rear overhang is absolutely brutal. Whoever ok'ed that should be shot.

Probably changed it to draw attention away from that horrendous kidney grill.

Scott do you feel there will be a different sized grill for the non-Msport vs the M-sport? I ask because the earlier exposed shots of the non-Msport looks slightly different in shape than the M-sport versions.

Either way, I think this taller grill will actually end up looking mean on the real M versions with its wider flares and body (M4), may actually make it look wider than it actually is.

The final product will hopefully be good looking vs being grafted on like the 7 series (which I actually like on the M-sport with blacked out surrounds + chrome inners).

Exactly I know the grill is gonna be bad, but seriosuly, bmw couldn't at least have connected the hood-cut line to the grill?!?? Not like it isn't gonna be tall enough to reach it!

I have some photos that I took in December at the Kaunertal Glacier in Austria. Every year, a lot of prototypes go, German cars available. Here I throw the BMW seen and a new convertible

Has a strong Audi A5 vibe.

... curious as to why they are sitting with the hoods open..

I always thought the cut line across the hood detracting from the hoods continuity was a necessity of manufacturing in some way...

The 8-Series coupe manages to avoid the cut line... in what way are the 4 and 8 dissimilar enough that the aesthetic of the 8-hood could not be carried to the 4?

There is design and heritage precedence for this style of grille. Photo courtesy of BMW Roundel (hope that's ok!)

Are we lookin at the same car? Kinda looks like tacked on the trunk from an old Buick in the back. Serious boat like design there. What gives!
