Dashcam fitted
After much effing and blinding (and cut hands) I finally got round to fitting my Blackvue dual channel dashcam along with a new micro SD card. Took me long enough to install it into my F36 only to get rid of it after a couple of months.
I thought it might be a bit more straight forward in the G20 with the fusebox at the front drivers side, but access was a bit hard to get the wiring through. Hopefully it'll stay in this car for more than 2 months. |

Yeah I'm using the power magic Pro. I wired the power supply through the front drivers headlining down the drivers side A pillar. I didn't actually take the A pillar lining, however to feed it down to the fuse box in the drivers footwell I had to take the side trim by the door (one in the photo). It's held in by 4 metal clips, I'm not sure if you could just yeah the trim off but as I have the extended storage I could take the drivers side storage cubby off and gain access to release the clips a bit before yanking.
For the fuses I used fuse 29 for the constant live (I believe it's the tilt sensor) it seems to work (or fuse 39 for the lights) Then for the ignition power I used fuse 46 which is for the 12v sockets. |

Howd you get it into the headlining and down the a pillar? Did you just squeeze it in? Does the plastic panel by the door just pop off with a trim tool?

Dashcam fitted
The cabling can just be tucked in without having to pull off the A pillar lining. I routed the rear camera cabling down the passenger side heading. I'm not sure if the trim by the door will just pop off as it's held in by metal clips which I released with a screwdriver from the inside while pulling on the trim.
Once I get a little bit of time I'll take all the bits of trim off a take some photos. |

That looks like a lot of faffing and potential for trim to not fit back and rattle. Why haven't they put the fuse box in an easily accessible place, like the foot well in the passenger side?

The side passenger trims were similar to the F36, just had to take off the trim by the brake light and use fish tape to feed to wiring to the rear camera. |

Any interference with DAB since you've fitted it?
Have heard rear cams can interfere quite badly without ferrite cores attached?

I actually broke the connector plug for the speaker just above the pedal, luckily the speaker is only for the BMW teleservices SOS call. I've ordered a new plug, just need someone to one day take the panel off above the pedals and see which way the wires go. |

To be honest we don't really use the DAB much so couldn't really tell you. Some people have had interference even with the ferrite cores, maybe it also depends on ones local signal strength.
