What sports did/do you play?

I played basketball in middle school through my sophomore year of high school. In middle school, I played Small Foward and in highschool, I was sometimes the PG, and sometimes I was the SF

During my junior year, I had a transplant and missed almost the whole semester that year so I wasn't able to play.

Currently in my 2nd year of college and I am not in any sports. Just want to focus on my education so I can graduate and start my journey.

I still play basketball from time to time when the temps. above 45 I used to play basketball right after my class ended since I had a 1-hour break before my next one started. But now with school online, I only hoop when the weather's nice.

Soccer as a kid, then went into refereeing. As a good Canadian I also curled for years as a kid.

More recently in the last 10 years or so I got into Crossfit and did quite a few competitions. That was fun until my body couldnt handle it anymore. Had a motorcycle crash 3 years ago.. knee has never been the same since.

Played soccer when I was really young, then moved to baseball when I was 8 got bored with baseball and started golfing around 10 and still play today. Played tennis for a while too, but only play the odd time now.

Started skiing about 4 years old and downhill raced from the age of 11-14, still ski today, but not as much as I’d like to.

Started curling about the age of 10 and continued through junior year at high school. Came down to last shot to represent Ontario at the Canadian Juniors and our skip missed an easy takeout to lose by 1. the wife and I are thinking about getting back into curling next season.

Played basketball and volleyball from elementary school through high school and played lacrosse all through high school as well.

Also played on a club volleyball team along with provincial and national team. Had a number of scholarship offers to play volleyball, but ended up with some shoulder issues in my junior year of high school that limited the offers. Decided to stop playing “competitive” volleyball after high school and just played on a couple rec teams at university. Been 6’ tall since grade 7 and haven’t grown an inch height wise since. Helped that I had a ridiculous vertical jump at that age and could dunk a basketball in grade 7

Played lacrosse at university and stopped when I graduated.

Played in a rec indoor soccer league for 5 years as a keeper, but stopped the season before COVID hit. Found it was just too hard on the body diving around and getting kicked once or twice a week from those taking the “rec” game a little too seriously.

Now I stick to golf in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Thinking back, my parents must have been excited when I got my license and didn’t have to drive me to all the practices, games and tournaments over the years. I was engaged in something pretty much every day of the week.

LOL - my GF 3 kids are in football, basketball, cheerleading, and competitive dance. Her youngest got his drivers license last month - she has NO idea what to do with her free time and still looks at her watch constantly wondering what her next pick up is. LOL

I would have never made it.

Soccer from 1st to 8th grade, track in high school. I still watch soccer (Real Madrid), but can't really run due to bad knees.

Parents put me into AYSO in the first or second year it came to the 'Nard, I was probably U-8. I still play (co-ed non-competitive, yeah, right, no slide tackles allowed) at least before la 'Rona. I refereed for about 10 years while my son was playing, became a national referee candidate, couldn't find enough Boys U-18 games to get certified.

Always ran, just went 5K last night.

Weights since I was 16

Surfing since about age 10

55 in August.

Same now for me, my daughter is a competitive dancer, so constantly driving her to and from the studio and to competitions. She turns 16 in a few months...

Back when I was in my 20's, we had a full-contact employee softball team in the city's league where I worked. In two seasons, every single player but one (moi) was hospitalized from game injuries. I should have been hospitalized at least one time, but got up out of the dirt after a 45 second blackout from being tackled trying to pull down a high throw to the plate from the outfield. The umpire asked if I needed an ambulance, and I asked for a minute break to see if I could walk. Our team was already playing one person short due to injury that day, and our pitcher was actually on the mound with crutches. If I had gone to the hospital, we would have had to forfeit the game! Wound up finishing that game in right field, with my throwing arm so messed up that I carried a few fly balls over to the center fielder to throw them back to the pitcher because I couldn't throw a ball three feet.

After two years of that, I decided that it was a good idea to find a safer sport...and thus my motorsports career started. We had won the city's league championship, and our employer's health insurance carrier threatened to cut our coverage from all of the injuries if we continued to play the next season.....

I turn money into noise at the track... and I spend a lot of time switching from the engine bay and under the car... Sport enough for me.

Ice hockey goalie - Playing since I was 11. 49 now.Lost about 9 months from pandemic, just getting back onto ice since late Jan.

Golf - 2nd full year, going into 3r. Trying to break 90 consistently this year. Even more frustrating a sport than being a goalie in hockey.

A little baseball and football when younger, then I raced motocross from ages 12-18 or so. Haven't had a dirt bike in quite a few years, hope to grab one this year.

Track and Field (Pole Vault), Football (QB, WR & CB)

These days I run to stay fit, play a little tennis and from time to time I pretend unsuccessfully that I can hit a golf ball.

Played 4 sports per year when growing up until Junior High School.
- Football
- Lacrosse
- Basketball
- Baseball

Once I went into Jr high, I played only three sports: football, basketball and baseball.

Then went into high school and only played football and baseball. I got a D1 baseball scholarship to play baseball as a pitcher. Did that for three years and ended up having three surgeries on my right shoulder. Miss playing to this day.

Now I just golf, play racquetball and outdoor sand volleyball from spring time to fall time.

Did not play high school sports. played pick-up basketball with friends only. Out of school , played softball, basketball, and some tennis and golf. After my first wife and I divorced I started a tennis drills at local club for exercise and to meet people. I have been obsessed since. I don't play any other sports so I don't ruin my game! I play about 4 times a week. I play mostly doubles with men that are in 70's( one superhuman is 86) and guys that played small college tennis.
