Did my M340i get a different steering wheel?

Which steering wheel did you guys get? I know a lot of people complained about the steering wheel be too thick....pause. I test drove one before taking delivery and noticed the one I got in my actual car has grooves it in versus the flat round thick steering wheel. Is it just random?

That photo shows the same steering wheel that I have in my M340.

All M340 have that same steering wheel - at least here in US

Normal M-Sport wheel.

People criticize that wheel in the G20 as being lame in design, citing how the F30 M-Sport wheel is better, but I actually really thought it was well done. This is even coming from someone who has the M-Sport F30 340i as my current daily.

The F30 wheel probably looks slightly better, but the overall feel of the one you have on the G20 is perfection.

I also had doubts that M Sport steering wheel will be a bit too thick, despite the fact that my hands are XL. I decided to bite the bullet and tick the box.

Happy to report that It's not too thick for me because it's very light at low speeds so you can easily adjust the steering angle with a couple of fingers.

At speed it gets heavier and you can grab it and enjoy the grip.

I found it to be too thick for it to be comfortabele so I went with the normal wheel.

It's perforated napa leather and Alcántara. Only problem is that it costs about 1000 Euro but it is something you're in contact with ALL the time
Looks a bit out of place. The leather, alcantara, and stitching don't match anything in the interior.

Alcantara is not a good material for a steering wheel. It wears really badly.

Not if you take care of it (which is easy to do). It can stay looking and feeling brand new for just as long as a leather wheel. Just like a leather wheel, if you don't clean it, it will look like sh!t as well.

You stick to the fat plain wheel that lets this sports sedan down. This is the steering wheel i have gone for with the carbon fiber trim

Only if you don't take care of it. I had one for 4 years, hardly any wear what so ever.

Not sure how your opinion is more valid than mine, or the need for name calling, but yes I'll stick to the nicer standard one than the ugly one you have.

Thats the standard fat steering wheel which is not up to scratch on a sports sedan. It should at lease have the m performance stitching
