my favourite brand bmw has lost it. Many here think the backs lovely and front is bad. To me The whole thing is fucking hideous. Shrinkage in size of headlights and taillights in the x5 x7 and now this is very painfully distasteful. I don't care about grill size as long as the bold headlights sizes match up.

That grill and all the recent LCI grills and BMW wants to know why their sales are down and want to close the gap to Mercedes! Meanwhile Mercedes keeps coming out with gorgeous looking grills like the vertical slats and diamond style grill.

My version of what the grills are probably going to look like (based on Scott26's info)...You can also notice from the spy shots that it's not as upright, high or thin as in the renders.

That is a nice overlay. If it turned out to be shaped more like that PLUS had mesh instead of the horizontal slats, it might look somewhat tasteful. Unfortunately the horizontal slats are a design element and we can't unsee them. It's a downer!

Not quite convinced BMW would possibly go that drastic on those "kidneys", maybe? Sure, anything possible these days. From what I can tell the Black seems to make the grills a bit less obvious, a good thing.

SCOTT26 has only seen a prototype. The grills will not look exactly like these renders. It's clear to me, even looking at the various camo shots, that the grill will not be quite that prominent.
So that's the first thing that pops into your mind's eye? An elephant's scrotum? Interesting... how many elephant scrotums have you seen? Are you a vet? |

Of course looks aren't everything but this is pretty awful...
Based upon the G20 I'm quite nervous for the G22 and G8x... I absolutely love my F30, and I loved my E90's... but I don't have any emotion over the new direction these cars are going. To me, BMW has always been such an elegantly simple work of art... and this is such a new style that is completely different. My fingers are crossed... it would take a lot to remove the BMW love from my soul... I just hope there's some clean, simple, and sharp aesthetics to these new models. I know the tech in the upcoming M3/4 will be second to none, it just needs to look *good enough*... lol

The grilles are definitely going to be big but the front won’t look like this render.Know one with any kind of skill designing a car would sign off on this mess of a design. The hood and bumper aren’t even proportioned correctly.
