These are insurance policies just like health, flood, homeowners, etc. They may be appropriate for some and not for others...

No sir/ma'am, I said I hope I do not have to use the protection soon. Use of similar protection in the past saved me on multiple occasions, so getting the protection on my car was worth it to me. It may not be worth it to others, and there's nothing wrong with that.
