I LOVE BMW and the NEW GRILL... MAKES THE F80/82 look old and geriatric. :happy anim:
The render wasn't that far off dude.
I found the render to be much better looking!

The rest of the car is interesting but the grille is tacky and over the top. I sincerely hope the production car has a smaller and more angled grille. And the stuff inside the grille...ugh just hideous. Tacky is an understatement.

On a different note. Any pictures of the interior. Is there a large grille in there too?

This was the F32 concept.

Yep, and aside from a revised bumper, different mirrors and different wheels, that is exactly what we got. The same with the E9X Concept too.

Man the front just looks terri-BAD!

I totally agree with all the people who think the side looks like an Infiniti. "Q60?" was the first thing to come to mind after I saw it.

lol, that front is just a little aggressive for me at this time. Maybe it will grow on me or it will look better in person and better in production model. I do like a lot of it but that front has me at this moment a little confused.

In the wildly zoomed/close in perspective photos directly in front of the vehicle the grill looks a bit overdone....however taking a look at a few of the wider shots next to the Mnext and ix3 concept the grill looks like it starts to fit in nicely, the proportion looks right in that context

I think this design in the flesh can really work

I actually think it's possible we might be looking at something closer to the M front end than M sport as well, bmw takes liberties on these concepts to borrow from different variants (the original 4 concept had the M4 hips)

It will not be a smaller grill. You guys have been in denial for months despite spy shots telling you this was coming, and now that it's here you're still having a problem shrugging off that denial. You're going to be in for a long model cycle.

BMW is doing a really good job to make me not want get another one. Way to self destruct. First the Lexus like 3 series and now this. Boy am I going to save tons of money by shopping for another car!! G70 vs Stinger are the main alternatives.

No. There is a separate section of the nose cone which is slightly higher on production. Basically the car is 85% production around the same percentage as the 8 concept to 8 production. But the overall look is the production car.
People need to read this as many times as necessary until it sinks in.

I feel like I've been down on BMW lately and fairly vocally critical, but honestly I think they've completely lost it at this point. FWD cars, comical grills, poor electric steering when everyone else seemed to figure it out, subscription carplay with the rumor of expanding it to other services, and now this? It's like they are actively trying to lose customers.

What is going on at BMW?

Happened because they ran out of creativity.

No surprises looking at their recent agenda.

The biggest shock to me isn't the grills. It's the fact that they made a red car. Make more of them!!!

I don't think it's denial, nobody was expecting the grille to be the same size as today's. I think people expected a design pattern that blends well with the car and the enlarged grille trend. So when some see this concept 4 pictures, they don't feel they got the job done. At least I feel that way, that they did a bad overall design job.

Front & rear license plates (North American) are going to look awkward, side profile is wonderful though.
