you need options or else don't get the newer car. an old 340 is a way better buy than a new g20 330i, if you drive a f30 340 and compare it to the g20 330i you'll regret the engine in the g20 but you will like the handling and chassis much better on it . your post made me chuckle. This is no simple answer, if you want to have fun with the 330i DONT try a straight 6 or m car. the OP has a fast car but this is general advice for those who never experienced the faster ones behind the wheel. I've had the 330 as a loaner and drove an n20 for 4 years and it's nowhere as fun as the f30 340. the g20 is better at handling. the infotainment id probably gets used to on the g20 I just don't like fingerprints. it was very cluttered when I used it though. the old I drive took getting used to as well but once you learn it it's amazing, I'm sure this is the same way. important, an optioned f30 is a WAY more pleasing experience than a base g20. the 330is doesn't feel the same. an f30 with a hud and Harmon Kardon and adaptive suspension is way better than a g20 loaner without those. you're getting a neutered 3 series if you don't have a hud, exhaust, Harmon Kardon, adaptive suspension (add coils if you don't have it), and the VSS. You also get sport brakes standard with the inline 6 motors. I actually had a 328i n20 for awhile and spent weeks in the g20 330xi. I drove the g20 m340 rwd and it is different. a different world. the chassis is way less numb and that means you drive faster and harder. I would prefer an m340 rwd to add to any x drive car but a full-on m car is more worth saving up for.

Had the 340i and now have the 330i. For all around use and commutes and mileage and comfort and sharp handling, the 330i is the better choice. Especially wit a JB4 and free flow filter. Lol.

For me the F series 3er and G series 3er are drastically different. F series offers a 'heavier' feel when rolling but the steering has minimal feedback. The G series 3er feels incredibly light on its feet and the steering feels like a dream. You truly feel the chassis while steering in the G series. The way it rolls is where it shines in terms of smoothness. Personally I prefer a more rugged roll but if smooth performance is your thing you can't go wrong with these new BMWs. The engineering is undeniable.
