A lot of beating around the bush here.

I got mine fully loaded in Brooklyn grey, carbon fibre trim and all of the options for 121,500 in QLD.

Price includes all fees including luxury car tax ect

In Perth, January 2023..... I bought my 2020 M340i XDrive with 7700km's on it for $80,000 then add $5230 for WA Stamp Duty.

There was a new 2023 LCI car going for $121,665 Driveaway in Skyscraper Grey at Auto Classic.

I think it also depends on the options on the vehicle. If it is fully optioned up, then this may be an okay price.

Mine is a 2023 built car, built mid Jan 23, and has options of:
- Technology
- Executive
- Carbon Trim
- Portimao Blue

I think I am one of the few that didn't tick the black front grill, as I thought the standard chrome one with horizontal chrome strips, looked better.

I did negotiate hard and got the dealer well under $115k (exact amount withheld as don't want the actual price getting disclosed), and I also qualified for the BMW corporate program (that includes 3 years of free servicing).

NOTE: Dealer did tell me that prices went up for anyone that ordered after 31st Nov 2022. Luckly I ordered mine in mid Nov, so they honoured my original negotiated price.

PS. There was an allocation of much cheaper M340i LCIs available in dealerships late November 2022, that were missing the Comfort pack. So at long as you confirm yours has the Comfort pack, you should be okay, and not impacted on your resale price (when the time comes to sell).

I ended up buying the 7,700km old 2020 Model for $80,000 plus ORC.... I personally prefer the 2020 model, as I think it has the better interior, exhaust, tuning capability and gear shifter. My car also came with a lot of mods that saved me time and money on having to do them myself, such as the M Performance front lip, side skirts, black kidney grills, black badging, black exhaust tips, lowered H&R springs and spacers etc. It also came with most of the Optional Packs, other than the Heated Steering Wheel, Drive Recorder and Technology Pack (which I read people have had issues of rocks wrecking the under car radiator). I would have liked to have had the M Sport Seats and upgraded M Performance Brake Rotors, but it wasn't to be.

The new car (for $121,665) that was available did come with a few packages incl. M Sport Seats, Shadow Line Pack and Executive pack. That car was available to buy immediately, so I wouldn't have had to wait 4-5 months for it (but obviously I wouldn't have been able to spec it the way I liked). The price I quoted was before any negotiations.

sorry from NZ

Technology pack - is that the one with bigger brakes and extra cooling hence the under body radiator?

Thats the one. Refer to page 6 of the G20 LCI specifications attached.

First post here and just wanted to say thanks to the other posters who provided some insight into what prices have been achieved. I placed an order today for an M340i in Tanzanite with M technology and executive packs and saved almost an extra $5k from the initial "best" price I was given of $119,500 which I was reasonably happy with already.

Congrats on the hard negotiating. Did they have stock already or do you have to wait for one to be built?

We have nearly the same cars, just a different shade of blue.
BTW: Did you consider carbon fibre trim as well?

PS. I will look to also get tinting via the dealer if he can do it for under $500, otherwise I will pay a visit to the tint-a-car place around the corner from the dealer, that does all the BMW cars anyway. I think their pricing is around $350.

Any thoughts on getting a dashcam on your car as well? I am pestering the dealer for their mythical ACE 3.0, that is still not available in Australia.

If the ACE 3.0 is not available when I get delivery, in early April, I will look at getting MotorOne to install the Blackvue Gold dashcam at a different BMW dealer.

“ Any thoughts on getting a dashcam on your car as well? I am pestering the dealer for their mythical ACE 3.0, that is still not available in Australia. ” - I ended up adding the “drive recorder” after seeing YouTube videos demonstrating its capabilities.

It’s fairly easy to shortcut a button and save 15-20 seconds prior and automatically records crashes ect,

Yes, Drive Recorder is part of Executive Pack (that I also ticked). I have seen that quality is not as good as a 4K dashcam, especially when selecting all four cameras. Its better than nothing I guess.

I want a dedicated dashcam to allow for extra peace of mind (in case the Drive Recorder either doesn't pick up an incident when parking and the rego of a car).

I think an independent dashcam, can also act as a deterrent for an idiot driver, a potential thief and/or car jacker, to pick on another car, instead of mine, especially if they don't know you have the Drive Recorder.

PS. I am also looking to get a GPS tracker installed, so I can track driving behavior of service reps or panel shops, who normally disable/unplug drive recorder and/or dashcam, prior to going out on an enthusiastic drive

Thanks! No, i'm in for a bit of a wait. May build with estimated delivery September i'm told. Is your car Portimao? When do you expect delivery?
Portimao was my choice but my partner saw a stocked M340i in Tanzanite and she said "that's the colour" lol. I did indeed consider the carbon and actually drove to another dealership just to see it in person, but I felt the aluminium suited the look I was going for a bit better.

I hadn't thought about the dashcam for the reasons Younge pointed out - I was thinking the drive recorder may suffice. I have a blackview 900x in one car and FitcamX's in my 2 Audi's as they are almost OEM. If the drive recorder isn't up to par, i'll consider something

I ordered my M340i back in mid Nov 22, prior to a bit of a price rise at the end of Nov 22. But I made sure I specified a Jan 23 build date.

Yes, mines a Portimao Blue. I think my car its waiting to get on a ship and is expected to be delivered early April 23, unless there are delays getting on a ship. I will give the dealer a call next week and ask if it is on a ship yet. Once on a ship, we can track its location to Australia.

I have Blackvue 900s 2 camera setup with CellLink Neo backup battery (on my 2016 Touareg R-Line), but wanted to go with BMW ACE 3.0 (if available) to avoid dealer blaming me for any battery draining issues, that I have heard mess around with the car's sunroof, cause issues with opening and closing.

BTW: Do you have any overheating issues with your 900x?

PS. I am also thinking of getting 50 year anniversary badges put on by the dealer prior to delivery, as they are added on M340is in other countries (I think built until Feb 23), but were limited to the M3/M4 cars destined for Australia.

BTW: How to we add a signature on this forum? Its getting confusing who is already driving G20 Pre-LCI or LCI and who has ordered their cars and is is doing the waiting game.

Is it just Sierra055 (Tanzanite), Younge (Brooklyn grey) and myself (Portimao)
that are waiting on Australian specced factory built M340i LCI cars?

No, no overheating issues that i've noticed.

Did you request the later build to avoid the comfort access problem or so it was a 23 build and complied car?

Nice to know that the newer 900x Bluevue doesn't have overheating issues.

The dealer mentioned that I would get a Dec 22 build, but as I wasn't in a rush to collect it, I told him to push the build week out to Jan 23. He didn't care, so locked build week in for Jan 23.

When the time comes to sell the 6-7 years time (maybe longer, if I am lucky and not in any major accidents), the car's resale will be about $2k more than if it was a Dec 22 build. Buyers a funny with build dates, even though they can be one month difference.

Both our cars will still be MY23 LCI, with 2023 compliance plates. I just wanted my car to have the trifecta of a 2023 build.

I wish my car was on a ship! Still sitting at status 165.

Is there anyone with an LCI and drive recover that can vouch for the quality of the recordings? I’m fairly confident the quality improved with the lci.

Sorry for the delay in my reply..... yes, I believe the Tech Pack has the bigger Brake Rotors and the extra Underbody Radiator. The extra Radiator is what I heard some people had issues with as one guy had a huge rock smash that radiator and it cost a lot to get fixed.
