That 194hp from batteries, comes at a huge addition in weight! Better have tire rack on speed dial as its going to chew threw some rubber.

Blimey , that is heavy

I assume the cars monocoque is heavier in general as it has to cater for crash worthiness assuming there is a heavy battery in there as in the i5 variants
It’s also a bit larger than a f90 so presumably that adds To it as well

Also why is the s68 delivering “only” 577hp when the current version delivers 625?

Rather than concentrating on the power , surely the important thing here is the power to weight ratio

I’m sure the m engineers will do a great job but I bet it was hard work battling against that weight.

Wow

I think that the gasoline engine is not powerful enough. The Neue Klasse Will get a range of about 1000 km, that means about 700 km effective, and will be at least 700 horse power, without paying any tax in most of Western European countries owing to the electric engine. The new M5 will loose versus the new M3 Neue Klasse.

Not when it weights as much as a base x7.
Long range tourer, yes. track monster, no.
Not without a stage 5 weight reduction.

I hope that weight addition won’t be too much of a toll on handling not just straight speed. It’s 7 series territory

Knowing bmw this car probably has over 700whp, so the power to weight should be fine.

700lbs lighter and 20hp less than the XM Label. Interested to see how that translates in straight line speed.
