Thanks for this! Good timing as I had an hour to kill in a supermarket car park earlier.

I couldn't notice the difference with the slowing down for bends as my car was doing that before without the nav activated. However, loving the indicator action

I got to try a couple of times but looks like it's not blindly slowing down when you use the indicator, but actually using nav data to judge when you need to turn. I use my active cruise a lot round town as it just ensures i keep the speed down so this is really useful.

Good to hear! Also means you dont need bmw nav running to get the integrated drive assist, so can use google maps etc

What was your SWA set to? USA or CatC?

It was already set to USA, I didn’t need to change that. Is it worth changing to CatC?

It's a puzzler as the coding suggests newer models should use catc but when I've tested it the lane change performance was much worse, taking longer to change lanes.

You could test and see if it behaves the same as I saw then change it back if worse. Just odd as most changes for newer models are heading towards more autonomy and this one seems to be a step back

I normally advise those with cat c to change to USA

Garage List
With Bimmercode I cannot see any option that can help me seeing the Sport Plus and Comfort Plus in the central display, but only in the intrument cluster?!
Following latest update is there anyone coding and solving this issue?!
Before the BMW latest update I was able to code that...
Thank you.

Approach reminder is the literal translation. Its part of the TLA coding.

According to that nice Mr Google it translates as Approach Reminder.

But I still haven’t got a clue!

If you dont code it (BDC and HU) then you wont get the Green light reminder options, and wont be able to configure how soon it reminds you to set off when the light has changed to green, when not paying attention.

Also translates to 'get honked less often'

No, it won't make any difference I'm afraid. Charging the battery will only help you trigger the instalation process once the update is downloaded to your car.

In my experience of (I think) 3 successful updates, battery state only impacts the cars desire to install the update - not when you'll be offered the OTA or the push notification to the MyBMW App. Every time I've been offered it via car and push notification to app & then downloaded via app and transferred to car - and every time I've then had to stick the car on the CTEK overnight before it lets me install.

I'd expect when you get it pushed to you is a function of where your vehicle's at in the queue/tranche etc. dictated by the OTA campaign at BMW. HTH

Thanks guys I guess this may take a while to receive OTA with me hardly doing any miles currently and maximum drive time 30 mins per day about 15 miles ...

My update popped up after a 1 mile trip to ASDA. It was done by the time I finished my shopping.

I'm on the same version.

Just spoken to BMW U.K. and they say that .45 is the latest, obviously not correct. They say I will probably not get updated from 11/2020.45 to 11/2020.50 OTA.

Very annoying as .50 required as a minimum to get Alexa working.

BMW's update process is frustrating as sub-versions can have a big affect, but difficult to get the latest.

I'd login to ConnectedDrive, click on Remote Software Upgrade, then Release Notes.

Screenshot the 11/2020 release notes, including Alexa Integration and present that back BMW UK, who know next nothing in my experience.

This exactly, the update comes through to the phone no problem and uploads from the phone to the car no problem, its installing the update to the car that's the PITA and very battery (12v not hybrid) reliant.

Had mine ready for installation for around 3 weeks with no sign of installation. This week I've been doing some decent commutes up the motorway, around 350 miles in total and during daylight. Went out on an errand last night and noticed that the stop/start had actually started to work again (not worked properly for months) which is reliant on state of battery charge and when I got home and pulled up, it instantly asked me to install the update. So 3 weeks or so it took to install and all because the battery wasn't charged to optimum which is a bit ridiculous considering the size of battery compared to what it's updating.

Spoke to BMW U.K. and they say that there will be no OTA upgrade from 11/2020.45 to any subversion of 11/2020.

They say the only way to get it fixed from.45, is via the dealer network, who shouldn't charge for the update.

Well that's a result as the dealer should put you straight on 03/2021.540
