It's the solid colour individual range. If I went for a M340i I would most likely choose that until I saw the price. Couldn't justify to myself (or my wife) spending that on a colour.

it is a flat paint but alot lighter than nardo

Slight thread hijack... I had an email earlier from a dealer advising of their reopening, thought I check out the used stock and was surprised to see a trio of nice individual G21's listed. 2 M340 and another M340D

Trying to work out why the other one goes over £62k - might be the M Sport Seats.

Pretty sure M sport seats were around £890 factory fitted option.
Only configurable on the M340 models.

That red is gorgeous but why does it have to be an individual colour, why cant they offer something like that as a normal option...

The Hungerford ones were all part of a batch of individual cars spec'd and built at the same time as mine.
And FYI the list on mine was just shy of £66k.

Did yours come from Hungerford? It seems they're in the habit of doing orders of individual colours for stock cars. I had a look through their Facebook page and came across several different models.

£66k is a lot of dough, but what the hell, if you can, do it. I know I would.

1) driving
- this is easy. Faster but also more economical, quieter with the windows up and similar with windows down, and somehow the ride (despite half the sidewall!) is better... and it corners flatter. How can it ride better and corner flatter? Ah yes, centre of gravity. The SUV hides the compromises really well, but you get into the wagon and it's immediately apparent how much better it is than the suv for performance and comfort. The only downside is the height for seeing over hedges on narrow country lanes. In every other respect the wagon is better.

2) boot space
- broadly comparable though the shape is different, X3 space was squarer (cuber?). But the 3 series roller blind and dog guard are much easier to use and to store, and the split tailgate is brilliant. I forgot how good it was from my F31 340i. That ability to open just the rear glass is not to be underestimated. Use it every day.

3) rear seats
- again I'd say comparable, if anything more foot space but less headroom? But very little in it. Kids seats still fit, they're comfortable and happy.

My experience isnt BMW but I had an Audi SQ5 and now have an RS4 and I would echo Pete's points - the SUV is great for looking over hedges but in all other ways I prefer driving the estate car.

But then I have had estates most of my life since an 850 T5. It was one of the issues I had with the M5, it wasnt an estate (and yes I knew that when I bought it but I didnt realise how much I'd miss the estate element!)
