Wider Tire Recommendation for M440i

Novice here. I have square 19x8 OEM 791m wheels with 225/40 RFT all season tires on my G22 M440i. I am thinking to upgrade to 235/40R19 or 245/40R19 for better grip and handling. Since m440 is awd, I think square is good.

I saw some discussions on m340 but haven't seen any for m440. I know 245 is the max size recommended for 8'' wheel but it doesn't guarantee the spring space. So I want to confirm if 235/40R19 or 245/40R19 works well for m440 without rubbing or deflection. I want to avoid spacers for now.

I will go to track days so I don't want any issue because of the wider tires. If 245 fits well, will it decline the handling by any chance? Will the height be a problem if I keep using the stock suspension?

I am going to RE71R but open to any suggestions for other extreme performance summer tires. I know ps4s is the golden standard here but multiple friends on track think that ps4s "compromise" too much on comfortable.

i'm running 255/35/19 on my front and lowered my car, haven't rub at once even on track, so you will be fine with that, when you switch to wider tires, the immediately feeling is your steering wheel feel heavier while turning, and for sure better grip give you more confident

cywing1119 Wow, I thought the Max. tire width for an 8'' wheel is 245. You really can use a 255/35 tire on an 8'' wheel? without spacers? Any rubbing when full lock and reverse?

Do you mind posting some pics of your setup?

btw, what tire do you use?

my wheel spec is kind of wild, 19x9.5 +23 on front and 19x10.5 +34 on rear, no spacer, haven't experience any rubbing in any case with dinan lowering spring

I see. Awesome setup! I will live with the stock wheel and spring for now, so 235 probably is the safer choice as the 1st step. minimal speedo and height changes

Do you change the brake? Some suggested upgrading brake line and fluid should be a good start.

i upgraded my brakepad to endless mx72+ for track use, but still on stock brakes line and fluid, will change those as well, for daily use the stock one is fine, but if you plan on tracking it, brakes and tires are first priority to do

Thank you, sir. Safety is always the 1st priority.

Do you feel fading when the brake is cold? if so, how bad is it? will it affect your daily drive on highway?

How are you dealing with the rubbing issue?
I like the red accent of those black wheels. Did you paint it? It reminds me of the KMC wheels District model because of the design.

not really, just some brake squeeze noise when the brake is cold sometimes, but not noticeable stopping power difference
