HUD & Polarised Sunglasses - Fixed

So I have seen a few threads on this, and I know my 2-3 pairs of polarised sunglasses don't play nicely with my HUD... so I rustled out a set of glasses I had bought from BMW Lifestyle 3 years ago, never used... et Voila ! Crisp and clear HUD display at full brightness...

And what is interesting these are also polarised, but obviously the polarisation is 90 degrees as opposed to 180 degrees so perfect for HUDs... that's my take anyway

I have a set of non polarised in the M340 for exactly this reason - all my other sunglasses are polarised.

My prescription sunglasses are polarised but seem to work OK. The HUD is gainer but still clearly visible.

Just an FYI for anyone else perusing this thread, but if you're using polarised sunglasses you might want to try adjusting the rotation option in the HUD. It seems that BMW intend that option be available so that polarised sunglass users can view the HUD even while wearing them.

I've have this rotation feature on my F31, never occurred to me that it would be for reducing the polarising effect. When I first got the car I though the HUD was a bit on the piss and used this to straighten it up to fit in with my driving position

I did actually see that and try it, but all it did was rotate it as a complete graphic, to make it level in front of you... I have not pushed it all the way as I imagine it would go into portrait = useless, no?

That's a shame - worth a shot I suppose before spending ££ on sunglasses! Besides, do we even get sun here?
