Scuffed black alloys

Bah - car is a month and half old and already I’ve scuffed an alloy! Hospital car park today.

Glad I took out a combined wheels, tyres and smart repairs policy from total loss gap. I might save it up until I’ve scuffed another one before I get them fixed.

Ha, month and a half? I scuffed one of mine on the very first day.

I think it's the low profile of the tyres makes it very easy to do. And the tyres don't stick out proud of the wheel.

I fixed mine myself with a bit of rubbing down but I've been really wary of going close to curbs since then.

May as well get it out of the way early as they are going to get scuffed with all the bomb craters we have to drive through. I haven’t kerbed mine yet but there are a few scuffs from encounters with potholes.
Buy some clear lacquer to help prevent white worm would be my advice

Get it sorted ASAP, think they only allow 30 days from the scuff happening to being booked/accepted for repair. Stops historic/old scuffs being claimed for before policy was active

Yep, it was a combination of not being used to the width of the car, the low profile of the tyre, and the ar@ehole up my backside who wouldn't give me 5 seconds to park.

Not sure I agree.
I've had 6 years of new bmw cars, and have not kerbed once.
Taxi to the curb parking, extra vigilance at all times and not letting the wife drive it are my solutions.
