Advice on ordering G21 with M Perf Parts

I’m looking for advice please from anyone who has ordered a car and had some of the standard parts changed for M Performance by the dealer. I’m thinking about a G21 with Shadow Line trim but I want the dealer to change the wheels for 795m.

Questions:

1, Can anyone who has had the dealer swap wheels from default to something else that BMW sells please tell me what happens with the wheels the car ships with? I’m assuming they change the wheels at the dealer and not at the factory. Do they provide a discount against the original wheels that you are paying for but don’t receive? Or do they give you the originals to take away and dispose of yourself?

2, Anyone running 795m’s on Michelin PS4s that can comment on the ride, firmness and comfort in everyday driving? Were you able to get the dealer to fit the non-runflat tyres as part of the order?

3, If going down the PCP route, is it possible to add M Performance bits (Wheels, trim, defusers etc) to the PCP element of the purchase or do they have to be paid upfront? I guess I’m right in thinking they add little or nothing to the GFV?

I’m homing in on a spec of: G21, Oxide Grey, Shadow line, 795m wheels, full M Perf kit (skirts, de-fuser, splitter, grill etc). I’ve previously ordered standard factory builds so would appreciate some advice on the above before I start talking to dealers.

Thanks.

Garage List
With my car i had to buy the M Performance 898's separately, so the 792's just came with the car. I sold them on ebay.

The 898's come with PS4S, but a quick check on the german sites suggest the 795's come with runflat Pirellis:
https://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-komple...112459546.html

I know Tony Lewis has added M Performance kit to PCP's before, not sure about any other dealers but i don't see why they can't. Having said that, i believe you effectively pay off the whole cost of the extras during the PCP contract as there is no residual value for those parts.

This is the exact setup I was looking for. Do you have any photos?

I have put all my M performance extras on to a PCP. With the wheels it depends if you work that in to the PCP or whether you just buy them yourself. If you PCP I think you would still get both sets of wheels however if you handed the car back at the end of the term you would need to return all items which were on PCP. If you buy the 795ms outright then you have them to sell at the end of the term.

A: yes you never get the original wheels unless you ask. The price then is some "delta" which is the difference of the higher spec wheel so not like you splash out the full amount.

I have a G21 on order from Tony Lewis, have also ordered the M-perf kit however the G21 doesn't come with the front Splitter so you have to order the G20 splitter separately to the G21 kit. No idea why? Tony tells me it fits just fine.

I've not gone with the front splitter or wheels. TRL did offer to add the cost to the PCP but I'll just pay for the kit separately.

I will ask for the original diffuser, never know if I'll need it, or maybe just ebay it?

I was told that BMW have not aerodynamically tested the splitter with the rear spoiler and therefore is currently not offered as part of the M Perf package for the G21.

Can I ask why? I'm going through a similar "buying" process with another dealer would like the M Perf kit fitted in conjunction with the splitter from the G20 so interested in your thoughts.

Just personal opinion really, not 100% taken on the front splitter and it does lower the front ground clearance, not by much but a little, so both things considered I decided not to fit it to the G21.

After 6 years of F31 ownership I still have the M-perf splitter in the garage!

These photos were recently sent to me from the dealer to give me an idea on what the kit looks like on a Mineral Grey car, sadly not the G21 but hope it helps.
Personally i'm not a fan of the carbon fibre look but same parts are available in gloss black.

There are plenty of images on the forum of the G21 fitted with the front splitter.

IMO definitely go for the front splitter without the carbon extensions. The front splitter makes the car IMO.

The rear carbon diffuser, although more expensive looks much better fitted than the black one, the black was is quite plain, so I would go with the rear carbon diffuser.

Completely agree with this.
Although the extensions on the splitter make the car super aggressive they are also super expensive and very likely to get damaged at some point.
As for the carbon diffuser it totally make the rear end for me.

I'd almost be tempted by that and say to hell with Mrs O's worries about ride comfort if it wasn't for the fact that I had already went for all black 791's for use as a winter wheel and the fact they are sold with run-flats.
