Subscribing here because I want to see the info on production and 21 models as I have an order in without allocation on an MY2021 M2C for September ED. The delivery reservation has been accepted and acknowledged.

My speculation on the answer to your question is that the factory probably only produces the individual colors in select batches...meaning once or twice a month they do batches of those colors. So, they may take longer depending on when you get in the queue.

I’m assuming just way less demand for the colors that cost more.

I heard BMW is not even taking any orders on M340...

Mine is also a 2018MY and lease matures in Sep. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that timing will eventually work.

Did BMW or dealer reach out to you for the extension? Or you had to reach out to them?

What made you decide to extend, and when does your original lease mature? I'm not sure if I want to extend and want to get into a new car as soon as I can. So really have to time it right...

Yes, a bunch of orders that were not yet already in production got cancelled. Dealers are waiting for a new batch of allocations. At this point, might be MY21 vehicles.

Official word from my Chicagoland dealer. BMW killed my Dravit M340 order. I was told no more MY2020. If I want an M340 I will have to wait for MY2021. Anyone know when the new specs and pricing will release? My dealer also stated that they could not honor pricing or deals on my current build to a new build.

Exactly the same situation. I think we’re expecting to here about the my2021 details in the next 4-6 weeks. It appears a few small things are starting to get out.

Same boat, order pulled until 2021 specs are disclosed. Mine assured me they’re honoring price and locked in deals. Naperville BMW

The fact that their cancelling orders is kind of concerning. I'm close to placing an order and while my dealer told me they don't have information about MY2021 production start, I don't want to be out 2K for a deposit and potentially not have same rebates and rates honored.

Seems like the information is all over the place but they specifically told me they weren’t going to honor pricing so I decided to go off a lot elsewhere... my dealer was also guess August production so maybe Oct delivery. Just too much u certainty for me. The dealer I went with is holding my car for me until June 2nd to see if the incentives are better... classy move.

The impression I received was if your car wasn't already started in production before the Covid lockdown, you were getting canceled. My dealer (MWerks) is very transparent. I have a feeling they just don't know what incentives, APRs etc will be offered in July/August. The incentives could be the same, they just don't know at this point.

Does your old build still show up in MyGarage?

All kinds of weird stuff going on then. My build hasn't started production yet, but it's still listed in MyGarage with status "Scheduled for Production." Haven't heard anything from my CA about cancellations either. Wonder if they're still working through cancellations or if they aren't cancelling all orders. I placed my order sometime around March 15.

I placed an order in December for ED in April. My order still isn't cancelled, shows up in My Garage as "Scheduled for Production" but has no set production date. I honestly don't know if I want to wait any longer on this.. I haven't heard anything from my dealer. To me it just wouldn't make sense for BMW to cancel current orders from a business perspective but who knows at this point lol

Date of order is likely to be a factor but so is the build. They’re after efficiency. The more the unique the build the less likely they’ll run another batch of say sunset orange... or they’ll cancel the the remaining after the last sunset orange etc. I just wish the communication was clear.

Yeah good point. My build is fairly common and the color is just Portimao Blue. I saw some of the cancelled builds were Ind colors.

Can you share (here or PM) which Chicagoland dealer you negotiated with, and roughly what % off MSRP before incentives were you able to get?
