I reckon M340i, if petrol (gas) was as cheap here as it is where you live, that’s what I’d get!

Is it confirmed/set-in-stone that the G21 won't be coming to the US?

Even if it does, will it be made in Mexico?

Fortunately gas is always crazy cheap in the U.S.

The same goes for the cars themselves relative to the rest of the world

Yes they are a lot cheaper than in the UK but we do get a lot more standard equipment here.

But UK is cheap compared to Europe, have you seen how much they cost on BMW Germany site?!

I haven't, but I bet for the price of my 340i in the U.S. I would be able to buy only a stripped-down 1-series or something similar in Germany

I remember asking years back why German cars sold domestically are way more expensive - someone on here replied to the effect that Germans are happy to pay more for domestic goods and items (paraphrasing from memory).

Why don't you bite the bullet and get the i?

I do 23k miles pa and got an i and would do the same every time.

I know you do long distances but surely the i is worth the extra fuel spend? :

Well, with these 48v hybrid systems being fitted to G20's it might make a 340i viable for me!

Actually German prices are still rather OK compared to some places in europe. For example here in Finland the 340i costs whopping 85k USD. Most of the difference comes from taxation...

Still driving 340i and planning to get G20 M340i or used F90 M5 (new one is out of my paygrade as it costs with decent equipment ~250k USD).

Yes I have heard some countries apply massive taxes, Greece and Turkey tax cars based on there power output, so basically only properly rich people can afford an M3!

I wonder when do we see the pre-production test drive reviews? Wasn't this supposed to be on last Sunday? Did I understand something wrong?

125 lbs lighter on a car that's already pretty light for its class is excellent. Now let's hope BMW surprises us with the news that the M340i sDrive will get a manual transmission.
