M440i x-drive coupe to M340i x-drive swap???

Good morning all. Need a bit of advice from the knowledgeable members of this forum. Currently finance a 2023 M440i x-drive coupe that I picked up in January of '23. Car has 3,500 miles and is loaded including the MPE and every major factory option with the exception of the High-Performance Tire & Cooling Package. I love the car with one exception...that is I've come to the realization that I'd be better off with four doors. I have found a pre-owned '23 M340i x-drive in BMW dealer inventory also with 3,500 miles and identically equipped with the exception of the MPE and the Driver Assistant Pro Package that I'll never use on my current vehicle. The dealer is prepared to do an even swap for my car. The issue is my current car's MSRP was $9k more than the 3 and I put $15k down on the financing so the even swap really isn't that even. Is the current 3's lack of depreciation vs. the 4-Series coupe worth the move? Will I recoup some of my lost down payment on future re-sale? Aside from looks, which are subjective, is the 3 a better package? Your thoughts are much appreciated.

If money not an issue I think you will like m440gc (g26). I like it more over m340. for me it rides softer and slightly less sporty factor, but sporty enough for me when I want to.

is there a reason you want m340 vs m440gc other than per say value it holds?

I did consider the GC before I purchased my coupe. At the time, the classic coupe's looks were more to my liking. Now that rear seat space has become a concern, I do believe the 3 has better access and rear head room although the GC's hatch is a plus. The M440i GC is also more expensive that the M340i.

Bad news. You will not recoup your money. That’s the cost of getting out of a brand new car four months after you purchased it.

What is your car worth, what is their offer? Even swap is going to be pretty horrible deal for you that you should be able to beat pretty easily.

15% hit off MSRP. Their spin is the coupes do not have anywhere near the re-sale of a sedan. 90% of buyers at the dealership are looking for either a sedan or an SUV/Crossover. Few walk in looking for a coupe.

There may be less market for them, but they also cost a premium (a least new) and come with more standard features. And it sounds like yours has more options, too.

You should consider putting in an order for precisely the car you want and sell yours privately.

And, having already chosen the 4 GC, I would encourage you strongly to consider it. But, again, it is more expensive than the sedan.

What is the blue book or MMR? Their offer sounds low, obviously they are going to spin it in their favor
