True, but it has been done in the past. 6-Series GC Concept and the F32 4-Series Concept cars were extremely close to production spec.

Yeah, the rear end could be a bit more sleek, the greenhouse looks a bit awkward in the rear, however it isn't nearly as bad as any of the past GT's.

Still not crazy about the grill, but it does look better like this without all the sparkly bits on the concept 4. Production version with shadow trim could be nice.

Wow. I like it a lot. The front grill doesn't kill me. Somehow it looks much better here than in other vehicles. I was also hoping for a more production ready reveal.

The grille doesn't look that bad (as I've already said, I'm actually getting more worried about the new rear end designs of BMW in the last couple of months).
I guess it helps that the inner part isn't as flat as in the one leaked production model, where it looked pretty awkward with the straight bars. So there's a 3D effect which definitely looks better. |

Nobody’s driven it yet, so I suppose that depends on what’s really important to you here

Why are they trying to mimic so many elements of an ICE car? Grille is unnecessary, need another way to express BMW design. And diffuser does not need to look like double-side exhaust.
