Thanks!! This is my last weekend with the M340i. It's such a nice car, I'll be sad to see it go so soon.

I doubled down on Audi today and got the wife a left over stock 2019 Audi Q7. Came pretty well loaded and has the black optics and S-Line packages (Orca Black exterior). Nice black on black on black trio. She's happy, so I'm happy!

The still have to pick it up. Unfortunately I was under the weather this week and had to delay delivery to Friday. I'm itching to get it though!

Great choice, you'll love the RS5 for sure! Any plans for the new ride?

Thanks! Nothing immediately but wheels and an APR tune fairly soon. I need to do a little more research into what works and what doesn't with this car. I definitely don't want to just start slapping on parts. Everything will need to be OEM+

Finally took delivery today of the RS5 and the Q7 (wife is happy with the Q7 so it took the pressure off me with the RS5 lol). It's pretty impressive but I haven't had a lot of seat time to really push it.

It's hard to tell from pictures but in person the RS5 is SO much more "special" looking and sporty compared to my previous S5 Sportback (although I did like the red interior of the S5).

Here are some comparison pics.

Curious to hear how it drives compared to M340...

Weight is about the same if I'm not mistaken but isn't it less rear biased awd compared to the bmw? Also curious to hear your opinion on the transmission as audi always seems to tune the ZF quite differently

I definitely need more seat time to make a fair comparison, but the M340i definitely holds its own as far as speed. The biggest difference is the (and I'll quote myself again) "special" feel of of an RS model...much like a real M car. The acceleration in the RS5 is for sure faster and more brutal feeling versus the M340i. Very little turbo lag much like the M340i, but also a much more performance...harsher...more raw engine experience.

The RS5 feels as much rear bias, but it's more glued to the ground and the steering is much more direct. I thought a lot of these comparisons (aside from speed) would be similar to my prior S5, but it's a different animal in almost every way.

The ZF is good...better than the S4/S5 but it still seems more on point in BMW applications.

One thing I will say is that Audi does beautiful quality interiors (materials and design), however the M340i feels more bank vault solid. This also very well could boil down to a hatchback design with the RS5 that is notorious for a little more flex and shutters vs a solid proper sedan like the M340i.

All in all, I'm very happy I made the switch but that's not taking anything at all away from the M340i.

Now I've just got to fork out another few grand to get all the $6k of exterior carbon fiber wrapped in ppf before I have a heart attack! Lol

Nicely worded- appreciate the insight. I almost got an RS3 over the M340 but I was able to get such a good price on the bmw and ended up leasing so I could run it through the company I own instead. RS cars lease notoriously bad unfortunately.

I love me a new vehicle but for those that are OCD like us, a new purchase comes along w PPF, ceramic, mods etc and I've already spent like 7k on after market mods on my M340 and feel I need some more time w mine before I get car ADD all over again lol

Will also be curious to hear how your dealership experience goes compared to bmw as well

Haha thanks! I didn't even notice the tree color in the background! Although it does make me a little sad as we're going into fall/winter soon

True that, but that's why you have QUATTRO, right?
