My 330e touring is produced in July, meaning model year 2021 (suppose all 330e touring are). Have the 20A engine.

Hello,

I have a model year 2021 G20 330e Xdrive and it seems that BMW/Bosch has locked the back door for ECU tuning. Two local tuning company stated this info to me in this week. Any idea how or who might have a solution for this issue?

ps. my motor type is B48B20A

hybrid motor adds weight and from what i've seen, despite the power increases the net effect of adding a hybrid motor doesn't really impact 1/4 mile, but may be faster due to additional torque off the line.

Ask the tuner, i think VipinLJ mentioned bm3 asked him to send something / come in for an unlock?

The DME in my car needs to be bench unlocked and I found out about all this much before there was info regarding BMW increasing the security on the new DMEs (back in December). No one knew why it happened then because everyone thought only the new M2C and F80 M3/4 had the security lock, not a measly 330i!! We found out after my car was bricked that that was the issue.
I haven't been in touch with PTF personally after that incident because I'm wary of shippingy DME and worried about the shipping company losing it. But I know of others who have shipped their DMEs to get it bench unlocked and have been able to flash their car. If there was a brick and mortar place near where I live that could do it, I would've taken the chance!

Try MG Flasher. I believe that are currently working on the latest ECU versions. Plus it can be unlocked remotely ;-)

So I'm a bit confused how you gained so much power. What do you recommend for most increase in horsepower and torque.

Would that not be Xtraboost turning off since that brief boost is only available for a short time?

When driving sensibly have any of you with remaps seen improved fuel efficiency? My CC 330e has been given the go ahead to be reamapped as long as it improves fuel efficiency (obviously not when putting the pedal to the floor).

Hi there.
I have a 330e with BSR tune done. Is is soo fast.
From standing, when using traction control (one push on the botton) A45 AMG and stage 3 Golf R cant keep up. And they are 4WD
Only one Golf R who has out run me was a stage5, (I was told later)

Soo, what happens next? I have ordered a hybrid turbo and a catless downpipe, and take it from there. I'm going to let BSR make a unique tuning for man car. Keeping the sensors, both temp and PPF pressure (PetroParticleFilter I assume) so I wont get a melt down.
Then I'm going to buy new rear tyres

the 20A vs. 20B refers to the engine block. The B46/B48 numbering refers to the entire ICE.

Stage 1

Hi guys,

this is my first post on the forum but I have been following your posts since a couple of weeks. I stumbled upon your posts about the 330e stage 1 tuning and ofcourse I had to check my own engine... Guess what: I have the B48B20B engine and decided to go for it.

Today I had my car tuned to stage 1.
I haven't been able to do a lot of driving yet but it definitely feels a lot quicker and more responsive at first glance.
Next step: exploring Bimmercode.

I'd like to thank all you guys for posting this information online. It helped me a lot. As a small token of appreciation I will share my dyno numbers below!

Question: is there any way of knowing in advance how a remote software update will affect the tune? Ofcourse I can go back to the tuner to re-do the tune if needed, but it would be nice to avoid that.

Yes, OTA updates will affect your tuning/remap. I didn't know until I updated mine, and now everything is gone.
I recommend deactivating the automatic software update ASAP to anyone with a tune!

Top tip: get it tuned at a tuneshop that offers reset and restore for free during some time.
In the next 5 years I can go back to restore the original settings (before car maintenance) or to reinstate the tune for free. Could be a big deal when it comes to warranty issues.

@Bimmer330e: I haven't heard of a way to check in advance what model you will be receiving. As far as I know it's a lottery. Good luck and great choice .

Hey everyone
I literally just made an account to comment here. I bought a 2020 330e yesterday and got it tuned today. Got similar numbers to everyone 422hp and 761nm. Did it at Br-performance but the madrid branch. So wanted to ask the people that have done it before me. Has there been any problems yet or any issue with the gear ? Im really happy with the torque number but concerned at the same time. Replies are appreciated
