Unhappy performance tires are fragile? broken three times in past three months

Hi, I got my M340 on this January. Due to the terrible road condition in US east (Mass), the tires have been broken three times already.

I'm using the run flat performance tire by Bridgestone (turanza t005 rft r19)

First time I was driving on a local road and hit a pothhole. Two days after, the right front tire ran flat (fig 1)Name: WechatIMG42843.jpg

Second time I was driving on a highway and cannot avoid another pothhole on the road. It turned out left front tire had a bubble (fig 2)Name: WechatIMG42844.jpg

With above experience, I was driving carefully with the pothhole on roads. However, one week after I just fixed the left front tire, I was driving on a local road with 40 mph and hit another pothhole. This time right front tire had a bubble again... (fig 3)Name: WechatIMG42845.jpg

Luckily I brought the tire insurance so the cost is tolerable, but having to fix tires in this frequency is really PITA.

Why the performance run flat tires are so fragile? Any advice to improve this experience?

Thank you!

I too, had the Bridgstone RFTs on my M440ix as stock. After 3 years I finally just today replaced them. Originally 225/40/19, I went with some non-RFTs Continental DSW06’s in 235/40/19. I was hoping the lip protection for the rim would be a little better on these 8-inch wide 797M rims, but, still better than what I had in the Bridgestones. I think with 245’s I would have been rubbing somewhere. Roadnoise in the cabin is GREATLY diminished. Bumps are also well absorbed by these.

I'm in eastern MA, the pothole situation is seriously out of control.

Popped one tire, second got a bubble and bent a rim, third was a screw...

I have the warranty as well, sadly it did not cover the bend, it was slight, so I was able to get it repaired.
