Hi all,

I'm new to bmw and I was hoping I could get some advise/guidance on appropriate pricing for this CPO 2020 M340i:

What would be considered a "good deal" on this vehicle?

Dealership is willing to go down on the price but I have no clue what to offer.

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated!

Car looks clean and has a few nice additions (LED laser headlights, M Sport suspension, H&K stereo, heated steering wheel, M Sport brakes, remote start, 19" wheels) not to mention the low miles and it's a CPO.

I'd start at $45k and go from there.

Do you think if I waited a year, I could find a better deal? Even considering if car prices were to level out in the coming year or so. I'm not pressed for a car right now but getting a new one would be a nice to have. Sorry these questions might be a little subjective lol.

Unfortunately it's too difficult to determine the state of the market over the next year. I would like to think prices would re-right themselves to an acceptable level but who knows. Waiting is a gamble, but since you are not in a pressed situation it might be worth the wait

Ok yea… he's not budging one bit lol. I think i'll have to pass and just wait for my i4 allocation to become available…

Lol, my office is literally a stones throw away from that dealership.

I would need to run the VIN to verify the original build options but the grill is solid black which doesn't match the mirror caps and front bumper inserts which are grey (non shadowline package color), no biggie just something I noticed. It's also difficult to determine if the vehicle was optioned with adaptive suspension as the interior pictures do not display the gear selector area with clarity.

Other than that the car looks to be clean.

The build sheet does display an upgrade for the black grill so it is OEM.

I wonder if there is a way to verify that build sheet. Also, if you look at the button under the traction control, it's missing a button. Is something supposed to be there or did it not get optioned on the car.

Copy the VIN and go to website below:

https://www.mdecoder.com

You will then be able to view the entire option list from the original build.

The button is not "missing" for say, that is where the 360camera selection would be if the car had the option.

Seems like the grill was an aftermarket part?

Also, it says for Service History "!! CHECK HISTORY !!" in all caps and red lol is that normal.

The car has the shadowline option which includes the black grill but not sure why the mirror caps and vents are grey - should be black as well.

I wouldn't stress over the service history, you can obviously see from the carfax report the vehicle has been serviced at BMW.

Ok. I'm going to go in tomorrow to see the car and test drive it. Anything you recommend me look out for? I'm going to try to get it down to 46.5 but if not then ill just bite the bullet. 47.5 seems to be a decent enough deal.

Sounds good - look for the below:

- tire wear and tread life
- curb rash on the wheels
- hazing or cloudiness located on the interior side of the headlight lens
- front and rear brake pad thickness, including rotor condition
- windshield and wiper blade condition
- test drive the vehicle for longer than 5min. Verify vehicle for any abnormalities such as noisy sunroof, a/c blower fan squeaking at low rpm, etc.

I'd start with these and take it from there. The more you find, the more you can negotiate and then have repaired for free via warranty through BMW.
