What have people been experiencing for order times for those custom ordering M340/440’s lately? My wife’s current lease is due in September and was trying to figure out how far we need to plan if we decide to order her a car.

I assuming/hoping that the supply chain issues ease as the time goes on. Thanks you!

I placed my order for a US spec M340i on 6 Sept and the car arrived at the port (Galveston for me) on 27 Dec. I'm still waiting for it to move to the dealership but it's at least in country.

I placed an order 11/11/22 (dealer had allocation) and went into production 11/18/22.

Car is built and at the processing center as of 12/22/22.

Not sure how long it will take to get from the processing center to the performance center, but it took 41 days from ordering to get to that point. Hoping to get to pick it up soon.

Edit 1/3/2022: Just found out I'll be picking up the car on 1/30/2022

10 weeks for me.

Ordered my car around October 10 and arrived at dealership on December 20.

Placed order Nov 4. Car is currently “in transit” although the maritime tracker is currently showing the boat it’s on is still docked in Mexico.

Agree-about 10 weeks. Ordered M340 October and arrived at dealership 12/22.

10 weeks quoted Thursday (29-Dec-2023) when I gave my deposit, currently Week 5 build start. That would put it at the PDC around week 9 otr10. Dealer had allocation...

Sitting at 112 Ready for Production two days later.

You might want to see if you can extend the lease a few months so that you can get into the new model year when you order. Seems crazy to buy a car in August or September and see the new models a month later.

It all depends on whether your dealer has an allocation. This is the first thing you should ask if you are in a hurry to get a car. My dealer didn't have an assignment so I waited eight months.

Eight weeks. Middle of October and drove off the middle of December. Dealer had a production slot. This was plan B after not getting a slot for an M3 but I'm fine with the $$$ not spent

My lease is up in April 2023
Was told by multiple dealers I can extend out for up to 2 months with BMWFS & if you order (place deposit) on another bmw (any model), you get up to 6 months of extra lease extension.
Only downfall is you’d have to get warranty at that time as the original will run out (at least in my case).

5-7 for US built and 9-11 for German or Mexico. I paid my deposit on December 29th and have a Week5 build date (430iX GC @ Munich).
