Mexico factory timeframe

I ordered an m340i xdrive last week with intended delivery for November. Dealer told me 10-12 weeks from order placement until arrival. I spoke with bmw genius yesterday and completion date for the car is schedule for august 26th. The car is coming from the Mexico factory and it will be here sometime next month. As I don’t want or need the car until November this is somewhat of a problem. The sales manager at the dealership was awesome and said they’d simply sell my ordered car and order me a second a vehicle for November delivery. This quick build event raises two questions.

1. Are all m340i xdrives NA specs built in Mexico now? A thread I found on bimmerpost showed that all three series for the 2020 and 2021 model years were built on Mexico except for the m340i xdrive. I guess this may have changed for the 2022 MY?

2. For those who did have there cars built in Mexico what was the lag time for build date to delivery? I’m thinking of a week 38 to 39 build date for November delivery. This would be 4-5 weeks from production to delivery

Thanks for responses in advance.

1. Some are built in Germany, some are built in Mexico. I also ordered a 2022 m340 and it's coming from Mexico.

2. If you ordered last week I HIGHLY doubt it's going to be done 8/26. I ordered 7/7 and my car just went into production last week. If you have the production number you can login to bmwusa.com and look at your build status.

They gave me an immediate allocation and it went into production queue the next day. BMW genius told me the car will be completed on 8/26

My m340i rwd order finished production (Mexico build) on July 28th and has been waiting for a ship since then. Looks like the next one is coming on the 24th which I'm hoping it will be on. By the time it actually gets to the dealership I'm assuming it's going to be another few weeks as well and that's if I'm lucky to not have a stop sale (due to chip shortages) like many people are facing right now.

I think even with a Aug 26th completion date you're still looking at 1-2 months since then to actually get the car, sooner if you're lucky. I would probably estimate you to get it around October ish or so which is only a month earlier than you're expecting.

I think going with another build could potentially delay your car to December if you get a later production week so you have to be ready for that scenario as well.
