Quick update for our Sunshine Ace folks - we're almost there:





So the Sunshine Ace is scheduled to reach the port tomorrow (05/25). I was hoping to take delivery of the car by end of this week... but given some of the time frames I'm seeing for the vehicles rolling off of the Tannhauser, it appears that next week is more likely.

If it looks like you're going to be out of the lease before taking delivery, call BMWFS and just get a short term extension, they'll reimburse you back on a day rate basis for the unused portion of the extension
Or just turn in the car and see if they have a loaner

You may also have equity in your lease too with the current state of the used car market so inquire this as well if you haven't already

Genius line confirmed mine is processed now and also due to ship out on the 27th. I assume the chances are basically nil that dealer delivery, licensing/registration, etc. will all happen within that following 24 hours, so no new car for my holiday weekend...

CA called me on Saturday to tell me that they expect to be able to deliver the car this Friday or Saturday. They want to get it delivered before the end of the month.

I sent my dealer this note… all of which is true…I know it's not really within his control, but I also agree they'll want to meet end of month so hopefully it will help keep it top of mind. LOL.

How are things looking? I'm now in my lease extension grace period which ends on the 28th, and I was really hoping to have the car for the holiday weekend. I'll be away from the evening of the 28th-1st.

What's the likelihood of it being ready for pickup on or before the 28th, or should I just come return my car and see if you guys are able to provide a loaner until June 1st?

So what's the general plan for upkeep? With my usual family cars I'm just a car wash every couple months guy, but I figure I should take better care of this gal. Is ceramic coat necessary or just get a good wash every couple weeks with detail once or twice a year?

I'm still torn if I want to do a ceramic coating, or just a classic wax for a warmer deeper wet look shine, I'm going to see how the wax brings out depth and tone on the Dravit Grey… it's a really interesting color. If I do end up going wax, I'll probably use Fuso or the new gyeon deodorant stick looking wax, or maybe hold out for the new koch Chemie hand wax.

Otherwise, I'm prepared to do a ceramic coating and topper. Carpro CQuartz 3.0 UK and Gliss as a topper.

So dealer now said, no chance of picking it up tomorrow— they're waiting for a "certificate of origin". I am moments from having a cancel everything meltdown LOL.

Got the call from the dealership that they received the car yesterday afternoon and will also be picking up later today.
Genius line had told me on Wednesday that the car wasn't supposed to be at the dealer until the 31st.

Sheesh, mine that came on the Sunshine Ace is still listed as "At the Port" =/ At least there's some hope given bgnj is taking delivery of his today.

Update - spoke to the BMW Genius phone line and they informed me it should be at the dealership by June 3rd... oh welp.
