I hate piano black

My piano black trim is completely finished I was just about to think of other options then I thought what have I got to lose I might as well try save it before I go down the route of replacing or getting some sort of carbon overlay it’s still no where near where I want it but this took less than 5mins and it’s got me thinking what a an hour or so could produce does anybody else have piano black and how do you get the scuffs out and keep it fresh

Piano black looks great when it's clean, which is nearly impossible to do. You can try wrapping it or apply a ceramic coating meant for plastic trim.

Looking at all the scratched piano black in my wife's car makes me nauseous.

Piano black trim should be illegal. It is the worst material - cheap, tacky looking, and even rubbing a clean finger on it will introduce scratches. I wish BMW stopped with this nonsense once and for all.

G20 have two similar options of black trim. One is cheap glossy black plastic and another one is BMW Individual Piano (real wood).
People are mixing this two trims
But real Piano like scratches too

In order to avoid also the shiny surface on all other trim variants, I choose the only trim that made sense to me; Open-pored wood. I don't now how it takes abuse but I'm careful and it looks good after 3 years. I'm thankful that the iDrive controller surroundings isn't shiny (like many other model variants).

I changed my Individual Piano to open pored oak. But now i want to change to open pored carbon (M performance trim). I get package from dealership, but one part is broken I am waiting for new set.

Also when i took OEM glass parts, i took glass parts from glossy plastics and mount them to my original matte parts.

I love the piano black but can't stand it scratching so easily. Luckily my g20 has the ash wood trim which also gets scratched but it doesn't stand out like scratches on the piano black.
