Liqui Moly 0W-20 Top Tec 6600 Oil

Have any of you used this oil in your B58 engine? I've heard it's good oil and approved by BMW, however, when it comes to oil I don't want to use something that may damage my engine.

Thanks.

As long as it is an LL01/LL01 FE rated oil, and 0w-20/0w-30, you're good to go from a 'by the book/BMW standard' standpoint. I'm running 0w-30 in my M340. Good cold protection with a bit more on the warm end. Some like to run 5w-40 which is outside of what is recommended by BMW but doesn't seem to cause anyone issues that I'm aware.

The oil spec from BMW for the B58 is LF17FE+. The spec you quoted was for the older engines. I know the oil specs, my question was has anyone used this oil and their thoughts.

My 2021's manual is up-to-date in the car and lists LL-01FE and LF17FE+.

Yes that is correct mine states the same but I would use the oil with the latest specs that being LF17FE+ This still doesn't answer my original question.

Liqui Moly is as good as anything available, maybe the best.
Since my M340i is over three years old and no longer gets changes from BMW, I've been using Liqui Moly.
I also have an Audi that I use Liqui Moly 508 spec.
I buy the complete oil change kits online.

I've heard from others their cars burn oil when switching to Liqui Moly. Have you experienced this? I still have another year of oil changes from BMW and since I do my oil changes, I may stick with BMW oil even though it is quite a bite more expensive than the LM.

Car has never used any oil using either BMW or Liqui Moly. It has 25k. I change oil once a year, so that's about 6k every time I change it.

If you decide to stick with BMW oil, shop around. I've found it to be about the same price as LM.

I live in Canada and the LM is a lot less than BMW oil. We certainly get screwed when it comes to automotive parts in Canada. 😔
