LCI Sport Plus does not burble

Just like the topic says...my 2021 330i with Sport Plus coded in had a pretty decent burble, however I noticed that my 2023 330i no longer does.

I had coded it on several Pre-LCI and a couple LCI and noticed it...bummer

I have a ‘23 m340i with a vrsf catless downpipe and AA axle back exhaust and it burbles and pops a good bit now. Nothing like a ‘20 would from factory, but car has a lot more soul to it now for sure.

i feel like the m340i probably pops more than the 330 in general tho wouldn’t it? i would be willing to try regardless tho. do you know if your warranty was affected by the downpipe?

Honestly have no clue, I’ve never looked into 330is at all. No, the downpipe doesn’t affect warranty, a lot of people have a misconception on how warranty works. It’s not they see a modified part and they just void it immediately, say you bring your car in for a problem and your modified, they can choose not to honor you warranty only if they can prove that modified part was the cause of the issue. I’ve brought my car in while catless and flashed with xhp and never had an issue.

Also, not sure if 330is have the options as well, but in idrive under driving settings, there’s an option called iconic sounds. This option implements the valve control while switching between driving modes, as well as introducing fake engine sounds. In my case, I used BimmerCode to code out ASD, or the fake engine sounds, so that I can enable the option and keep the valve control while not having to hear the fake sounds.

Noob question - why do folks prefer careless downpipe/AA exhaust over MPE? Seems to be common on this forum. Does the former sound more aggressive than the latter?

Not sure how it’ll work with a 330, but if you already have the enet cable and BimmerCode why not.

Mpe just expensive as fuck. $2400 for an exhaust that doesn’t come with tips and isn’t even that loud is crazy. Mine as well go all out and get a valvetronic at that point. Snagged my AA from mike at xph for like $1800.

Agreed, I went with valvetronics and I thinks it’s way better than mpe. I feel like most people go with mpe because bmw can’t really void any type of warranty if the part comes from them
