Bm3 stage 2 with Xhp vs mhd stage 2 with xhp
I will have the aa catted downpipe which would be best for potentially cutting up, and what are the benefits of each in other aspects? Also what stage of Xhp won’t compromise the cars reliability as much stage 2 or stage 3?

XHP - I use XHP - I only use Stage 1, Stages 2 and 3 WILL increase wear. Only Stage 1 will minimize the wear over OEM. Stages 2 and 3 will reduce longevity. Stage 2 would be the max you would want to go with BUT do not drive hard until well after the gearbox fluid has PROPERLY heated up. Stage 2 (and 3) do things like increasing slip in the clutches when cold to speed up the heating of the fluid, but driving hard while cold will increase wear. They also change shift speeds, line pressures etc - all to improve "performance" but at the cost of additional wear. XHP do a lot of little things like that, which can adversely wear the gearbox to get an increase in performance. I have found, after a lot of driving that I actually like Stage 1 best. I have done a LOT of mods to shift points and other options to change the driving experience to be how I like it. XHP allow you to really customize everything. If I was going to do a track day, I would change to Stage 3 just for that, and then switch back to Stage 1. |
