MPG on stage 2
I have a wierd question but for those who went stage 2, catless, intake and tune, if yall put the car in eco mode, are you getting similar mpg numbers or is it always bad after tuning. I was wondering since maybe eco mode even with a tune wouldnt change anything if you werent pushing the car, and driving normally, it would give same mpg as stock. And yes im interested in mpg while tuning a car, its a daily so i dont want to be wasting gas money in nyc traffic, lol.

If you drive it in eco mode the MPG is the same as stock. I've done long drives and kept it in eco mode and averaged 27-30 mpg.

In moderate throttle application the MPG should be very similar. Its that the tune will allow higher amount of fuel when being pushed. |

Over 30 MPG all highway is possible in ECO but basically no WOT pulls and very light throttle only. I did 30 on a round trip from TN to KY, 90-95% highway.
I run mine in normal most of the time and I’ve noticed no drops in MPG with my stage 2 tune on 93 octane with normal driving. Running MST intake and AA downpipe with full titanium exhaust.

Eco mode haha, I've never used it.
I drive in Sport mode all the time. Coded the car to start that way. What I DID notice going from stock to MHD stage 2 with a downpipe running 98ron fuel and the 95ron map is that I got an average of ever so slightly better mpg when comparing 5000 miles before the tune (23.06)and then 5000 miles after (23.29), driving the same way. So slightly better total overall average mpg went up, but marginally. My driving is 60% highway, rest city. I used the cars "individual" trip setting and had measured 5000 miles before the tune and then I reset it when I tuned and looked again after another 5000 miles. That's real world driving over a ton of miles using the same fuel before and after, not a tiny single individual trip which, really means absolutely nothing at all. I expected it to worsen slightly, but i think you could say, in my case at least, no real difference. Last edited by cyam; 02-16-2024 at 09:22 AM.. |
